Canadian funnyman and actor Leslie Nielsen has passed away in hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The star of comedy hits such as "Airplane" and the "Naked Gun" series dies of complications from pneumonia, according to his nephew Doug Nielsen, who lives in Richmond
Doug Nielsen told CJOB that the actor passed away at a hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The Canadian actor had been hospitalized for nearly two weeks as a result of pneumonia.
"Just in this last 48 hours, the infection has gotten too much and today at 5.30, with his friends and his wife by his side, he just fell asleep and passed away," Doug told the radio station.

Rest in peace.
I saw him in an interview a few years ago and he said he was having the best time of his life.
This is a man who embraced his inner child and his inner funnyman and spent the second half of his life having FUN and bring us all along for the ride.
God bless you Mr. Nielson and I for one salute you with the whoopee cushion you used so long and so well for so many years!

Frank: It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
Jane: Goodyear?
Frank: No, the worst.

He should break new ground (including comedic ground) by appearing as a cadaver (which he would be) in one of the crime forensics shows.

“The Poseidon Adventure” was really an adventure. I wouldn’t have thought he was 84, though.

Doug Nielsen told CJOB that the actor passed away at a hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.A hospital? What is it, doctor?
"It's a big building with patients.....but that's not important right now."
Rest in peace, Mr. Nielsen. Thank you for all of the funny moments.

Over Over. RIP
Surely, you're not going to joke about this. That was actually Peter Graves who had that line.
