Exactly and why exactly did we NOT nuke Tora Bora?
PastorBooks says; "I see the four attack subs in front and the carrier, but what are the others?
ANGGAPO says "Now that everyone knows that the George Washington is on the way. How soon will they be shadowed by a Chinese pig boat? Someone with more savvy that our leader should see to it that the George Washington Battle Group gets lost, a total news blackout. That will give the Chinks something to think about. Oh yes, sink the pig boat."
I'm not sure what a pig boat is but I'm sure it would be interesting if the world could somehow lose the George Washington Fleet. At least for a number of hours. That would probably be fun, if not short lived.
More likely, I suppose were about to suffer some newly made indignity designed to limit or extinguish any nationalism we might feel inclined to, seeing these ships and fleets going about their mission. God bless them all.
Thanks for the pic.
The wife had on PBS news this evening, I won’t turn it on myself. They had an interesting story on about how the ChiComs routed almost all the internet traffic through ChiCom TeleCom for about 10 hours back in April.
The cyber security and military folks they interviewed said just those hours should be a treasure trove of intel for the CHICOMS.
These are not now nor have they ever been our friends. I finally got most of the family to start checking labels and not buy ChiCom made stuff... guess that pretty much rules out Wal-Mart...
And, yes, any additional military action anywhere in the world would fully exhaust our capabilities....something Chavez, Castro et al known very well.
Sounds like a game of chess..and things aren’t going so well for the home team.
I will be in Korea in three weeks. I check USFK's site daily. They have posted nothing to make me think I should change my plans.
I am and have been far more concerned about Latin America.
There was no Chinese ICBM missile launch. There was an eastern bound plane leaving a high altitude contrail.
Maybe, now we'll see what a real missile looks like.
ROFLMAO!!
Now... That right there is FUNNY!
War is a great way to kill off surplus population while ramping up industrial capacity, building national spirit, and potentially gaining new territory. China has a lot of extra mouths to feed and not a lot of good ways by which to do it. They would love some nice new plots of arable land; Sonoma Valley, for instance.
You have hit the nail on the proverbial head. This regime will haunt us for decades, perhaps longer, and the damage done may well be irreparable.
What will happen though, is that as China grows in economic and military strength in each passing year, she will grow bolder in her vocal opposition to US military presence in waters in and around the Chinese coastline.
China will dominate the Pacific Ocean around Asia within the next 20-30 years relegating the US to a secondary role. And this will be done without either side firing a shot.
In the end, despite all the postings here, we all know the tensions on the Korean peninsula will eventually fade, and business between China and the rest of the world will resume. And China will continue to ascend in economic and military power until a future generation of Americans accepts the fact that China is the leading power of waters in her sphere of influence.
Hey China!
Click on pic for past Navair pings.
Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.
At the end of the day, do a speed bump’s ROE matter?
how many trillions of dollars of our debt does China hold? I think the answer is in the question .... specially with this moron we have in the White House.
A sub, specifically a diesel electric boat.
Just for that we should now send another Carrier group say the USS Nimitz.
Has anyone talked to the new N. Korean leader, Kim il Duh?
I agree. The close proximity, shifting political landscape and icreasing lawlessness make Latin America a huge source of concern. One that is, and has been, underplayed.
Travel safely.
They says its their “economic” sphere. Its their way of saying, if you are going to be shooting stuff, make sure its far enough away so we can knock it down it if is headed our way.
What would GW do differently? Do you remember when China held our airmen hostage? That should have been a turning point in the most favored nation relationship.
