WASHINGTON Cabinet secretaries, top congressional leaders and an exclusive group of senior U.S. officials are exempt from toughened new airport screening procedures when they fly commercially with government-sanctioned security details.
New heightened security procedures by the Transportation Security Administration, which require either a scan by a full-body detector or an intimate personal pat-down, have spurred passenger outrage in the lead-up to the Thanksgiving holiday airport crush.
The senior government officials can opt out of such measures if they fly accompanied by government security guards approved by the TSA. The agency would not explain why it makes these exceptions, but many of the exempted government officials have gone through several levels of security clearances, including FBI background checks.

Almost could have predicted this. How tone deaf are these people???
Yeah, well me, too. I'm also not a tax cheat, a thief, a recipient of bribes, corrupt bureaucrat or a common thug, which none of these individuals can claim. But, I don't get special privileges. Government sucks.
My bet, it does not just extend to “those top people” I would bet that any character deemed important enough to have been given special treatment before, like by passing security, will be so treated as such again as long as they have the secret hand shake.
Spread ‘em peasant! No not you Mr. Secretary, you just go right on through and have a nice day!
The big lib hollywood types will be the next exemptions...
First pilots are exempted, then stewardesses. Now it is our federal overlords.
Groping is just for the peons.
Justice Department employees and federal LEO carrying firearms are also exempt.
Just show your credentials and you don’t have to stand with the peasants.
Why the American people arent rioting over these blatant double standards is beyond me.
We need to be writing to our congress critters and insisting that if the American people are going to be forced to go through this b***s***, government officials must be required to do so as well.
Differing standards for the ordinary populace and for the ruling classes is the very definition of tyranny.

The language thing is a real negative.
The pilots I can understand because they have the ability to crash the plane anyway with no contraband at all. But everyone else should be screened.
Screening is for the “little people” clinging to their Guns and Bibles.
Not that it matters to me anymore because I’ll never fly again but these exempt people work for us but they are above us? Go figure that one out. BUT: What’s to stop an impersonator DISGUISED as a senator from waltzing through carrying a bomb? This country is not my grandfather’s country and I’m sick and tired of all this crap! Call me when the revolution starts and I’ll try to steal a gun and join up!
Remain calm.
Get back to work.
Pay your taxes.
I for one welcome our new TSA overlords.

If you see something wrong with FUBO then you have a dirty mind.
He who steals my purse, steals gold. He who reads my mind reads trash.
This isn’t a security measure; it is a “dominance display” by the feds. That is why the pilots were included in the first place.
