This is not the case here in the United States where the entire thing is a colossal charade.

Yes, the scanners are not even powered...there is no "back room viewing screen"...

And they sure aren't checking for contraband when they do a pat-down.

You mean, like a toe-nail clipper? Or maybe a tube of toothpaste? They're supposed to be checking for weapons, not contraband. I could get substantial weapons through the toothpaste check if I would want to. Actually one time recently they missed a small knife I carry by habit and forgot to leave at home. (I mailed it back to myself.)

The whole thing here is a colossal farce. In Israel, it doesn't appear to be. But I guess you've never been so you'll just say something stupid again.
