TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- Israel's national airline El Al on Monday apologized to a visiting professor strip-searched on her way to conference in Jerusalem, an Israeli newspaper reported.
Heather Bradshaw, a neuroscientist, was travelling from the UK to Israel at the invitation of Hebrew University when she was subjected a physical examination in which she was asked to remove her bra.
She told the Israeli daily Haaretz that El Al security personnel detained her at Luton airport in London on 31 October, confiscated all of her belongings, and repeatedly questioned her. After nearly an hour of examinations, she was reportedly reprimanded for holding up the flight.

You mean, like a toe-nail clipper? Or maybe a tube of toothpaste? They're supposed to be checking for weapons, not contraband. I could get substantial weapons through the toothpaste check if I would want to. Actually one time recently they missed a small knife I carry by habit and forgot to leave at home. (I mailed it back to myself.)
The whole thing here is a colossal farce. In Israel, it doesn't appear to be. But I guess you've never been so you'll just say something stupid again.
ML/NJ
If it’s Israel doing it, then there is a REAL reason. She did something to test their system.
By the way, did they find anything under that bra?
This thread is useless wi-
Oh, never mind.
lol. I think she’s attractive. Good thing I’m not in the airport security biz.

“Heather Bradshaw is an IEET Affiliate Scholar. Ms. Bradshaw spent her early childhood in the remote hills and dusty towns and villages of Iran, Pakistan, and Libya where her father often worked to use technology to bring clean drinking water, refrigeration, employment, skills, and more sustainable livelihoods to people who had not yet experienced these benefits. Her own appreciation of the power of technology to bring positive change on an individual and social level led her to study (automotive) engineering at university back in the UK and then, after a short period working for a small British manufacturing company, to work for the UK Governments trade promotion agency, British Trade International. Through this she also developed an interest in and links with China.”
Seems to be a case of mistaken identity. Perhaps it was the above-referenced Heather Bradshaw that Shin-Bet had in mind.
I don’t know about you, but anyone who spent his or her early childhood in places like Iran, Pakistan, and Libya and was involved professionally in technology would definitely set off alarm bells in my security apparatus, especially if each of those countries declared its own hostility toward me, including wanting to “wipe me off the map”!
It sounds like they were profiling.
Good.
What do you mean by "pro-liberty?" Could it possibly be the "liberty" of Palestinians to drive all Jews into the sea? The "liberty" all Palestinian controlled areas have so far excercised - the "liberty" to drive out Christians & Jews from their areas? What other "liberty" have Palestinians ever fought for? Are you further revealing yourself?
"If you think that propaganda outlets can't use stories that have facts against them, then you don't understand the world very well. "
Again I'm not sure of your meaning. Do you mean known propaganda outlets should not only me analyzed for the intentions of the enemy but should be now seen as a source of actual facts and truth? What next? Are you now going to enlighten us with the truth as published in propaganda outlets of Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea.....?
Could our disgreement not be because I "don't understand the world very well" but because I understand you better than you realized.
(Re you tag: Paul Revere was the messenger who announced the approach of America's enemy, not the propaganda line of that enemy.)
That is an interesting mental jump, because I used the same criteria and came out with the exact opposite conclusion.
Although, in the interest of furthering academic excellence, I would not mind making her take her bra off, and then reprimanding her.
I will take a guess........
It's my understanding...El Al agents..ask questions of folks coming in to Israel.
I'm wondering if this particular agent asked different questions? Like where did you spend your childhood...?? And she revealed that she lived in Muslim countries for a period of time.
I dunno....but it could be.
For heaven’s sake the airline apologized for the mix up, and for future travel you can bet they will have her fingerprints on file to prove she’s not the person that raised their suspicions so.
should not only mbe analyzed for the intentions of the enemy
(Re your tag:
Why would she have lied to them and said something like that?
Citing the US Constitution's amendment regarding search and seizure, in reference to the government imaging people who are not criminals, for "security" purposes. Does that stand deserves his wife being harassed, if that's why it happened...?
Could it possibly be the "liberty" of Palestinians to drive all Jews into the sea?
If that's what comes to your mind when "pro-liberty" is brought up, you are a very sick person, IMO. Please just take your Palistinian fantasies someplace far away if you can't keep from projecting like that.
What other "liberty" have Palestinians ever fought for?
Your obsession with Palestinians is rather disturbing.
Are you further revealing yourself?
Yes. I am a pro-liberty, pro-American patriot.
Do you mean known propaganda outlets should not only me analyzed for the intentions of the enemy but should be now seen as a source of actual facts and truth?
Yes. It's called "intelligence"...and guess what...if a propaganda outlet reprints something, it doesn't suddenly change the truth, no matter how much you try to believe the whole world is dominated by quantum physics bizarre tricks.
Or maybe you're just a narcissist, who thinks that reality follows your observations, not the other way around. I knew a girl who went into the psych ward for such thoughts. Good luck with your condition--I hope it's something that can be easily treated, preferably by education not medication.
What next? Are you now going to enlighten us with the truth as published in propaganda outlets of Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea.....?
Sure. If it published purely falsehoods, it would be easily dismissed. One hint about propaganda--different types exist. One type is by using omission.
If America is a spectrum from good to bad, mostly good, but you print only the bad--you can print purely truthful pieces, yet give a distorted view.
Someone who is illogical would use fallacious reasoning (look at, for example, the fallacies of composition and division) and think that you can't use propaganda as a source of truthful stories, yet the intelligent, logical person would realize that propaganda may consist of 100% factual and unbiased stories.
Of course, the whole thing is a red herring, as the stories are also in sources other than the propaganda outlets.
And Obama's Cheshire Grin got broader, as he prepared the fingerprint ink and the list of American Citizens..."I didn't want to start building a database on the American people, but after all, listen to the DEMANDS that I implement this sort of thing!"
For the USA, in cases of mistaken identity, I would expect some kind of super-secure ID card which itself contains the encrypted fingerprint data but (in principle) can’t be forged undetectably. So the person can prove that he or she is the same as a previously “cleared” identity mixup without fingerprints needed to be kept by the gummit. All the person needs to do is submit the card and fingerprints if the system alerts, and no record would be kept of the fingerprints if there is a match to the card. This wouldn’t save only flying hassles, it would save stolen-ID hassles that confuse the person with someone who is actually wanted for a crime. (Currently such people face great woes sometimes as they are arrested over and over and over.)
You're "pro-liberty" in connection with Dr. Bradshaw's husband's statements against Israeli security policies for passengers suspected to be supporters of Palestinian terrorism, and you try to wrap it in the US Constitution.
Yet, you're not "pro-liberty" with FReepers' comments against the US TSA's new wholesale attack on the majority of Americans' Constitutional right against unreasonable searches. To you & the TSA, having those Americans, their children & and elderly parents fondled and abused is better than the use of a targeted Israeli method. Again, revealing!
To your ilk the abuse of the Constitutional rights of millions of Americans is preferable to offending a minority (who may not all be terrorists, but from whose ranks virtually all terrorists come) along with terrorist sympathizers by a targetted screening on the basis of rational and reasonable criteria.
"Pro-liberty" for enemy 5th column, useful idiots and protected PC minorities... BUT not "pro-liberty" for the rest - the vast majority - of everyday Americans. Ha!
As for the rest of your comment ('propaganda is your friend'), the feeble contortions you felt necessary to try to dig yourself out of the self-revealing hole you've dug yourself are too ludicrous and short of any mark to warrant a response.
Finally, now that all know which side each of us are on, don't bother to respond! It will only be more of the same.
You're "pro-liberty" in connection with Dr. Bradshaw's husband's statements against Israeli security policies for passengers suspected to be supporters of Palestinian terrorism, and you try to wrap it in the US Constitution.
Nobody suggested Dr. Bradshaw's husband said anything about Israel's policies. Again, you bring up Palestinians, when nobody else has, and then you attribute the US Constitution reference to me, when in reality, the Fourth Amendment reference was not mine.
Go ahead...support big government intrusion, cameras everywhere, strip searches of those the government considers a threat...but I will oppose you and your liberal buddies every step of the way.
And I admit that when you help President Obama and his minions gain the authority to demand our destination and purpose of internal travel, when we have to submit to government interrogation at whim under threat of prosecution for refusal, when we allow the government to base our safety on who it deems dangerous (not actual threats and instruments of destruction), when they expand their database on American citizens because we are far more diverse than Israel in potential threats and scope of travel, etc., then I will--in all honesty--likely comply for a while. But that doesn't mean I won't be plotting to fight back and try to retake freedom along with other American patriots.
Your attempts to turn Americans into sheep is not unnoticed.
MNA was launched with generous funding from the Danish Representative Office to the Palestinian Authority (PA) and the Netherlands Representative Office to the PA,...
The Palestinian news agency?
They seem to have a lot of anti-Israeli stories.
