Enhanced pat-downs and latex gloves — how often do screeners change them?
The Hill ^ | 11.20.10 | Carol Felsenthal

Anyone who has visited a fast food joint, a doctor’s office or a hospital has watched as workers change gloves between servings or exams. And if they don’t, the customer/patient would surely say something.

How often do the TSA agents doing the “enhanced pat-downs” change gloves? And would most cowed flyers who just want to make it through security and advance to their gate ask them to do so? Or would passengers fear that such a request would invite more enhanced scrutiny?

Gloria Allred did on Hannity the other night. I was embarrassed for her. She refused to answer a straight “yes or no” question about the flight attendant (cancer survivor) that was told she had to remove her prosthetic breast and show it to the TSA agent. GA kept saying she had to know the facts. Hannity told her this woman was a flight attendant with the same airlines for 20 (??) years. She refused to answer and started stumbing and stuttering, and in the end, DEFENDED the TSA.

It was glaringly obvious that she is just a shill for the Obama Administration. She is no “champion of women’s rights”; she’s a political whore.

I am sure Joy Behar will twist herself in a pretzel defending this crapola. I refuse to watch her, so I will have to hear it second-hand.

Wow! Thanks for that update.

I do indeed want to hear more from thse "The View" type lib skanks and others, who heretofore have supported The Messiah, with their specific take on this.

I believe I know the ABC viewership demographic of "The View" and I can tell you by and large once they see a little kid crying while being molested, or hear the story about a female cancer survivor forced to take off a prostetic, they would be LIVID at the TSA... and this would put them in direct confrontation opinion-wise with "The View" and their liberal, protect-Obama-at-all costs. I DO hope this issue is made an "issue" on their program soon. We can really force these people in a corner, with the MASSIVE MAJORITY of Americans on our side. It can also drive down Holy O's approval numbers EVEN MORE.

Anyone who has visited a fast food joint

The people using gloves in a fast food place aren't changing their gloves after each "serving". That was just a silly example.

On the other hand, in that application the gloves are protecting the food from the wearer.

In this case, we are afraid of the gloves spreading disease from one passenger to another.

This is a very good question that needs to be answered! and yes, the TSA felons ought to be required to change gloves for each sexually enhanced pat-down! For health and safety reasons alone!

Think about some TSA felon putting their hand down someone pants into their private area, then you are next or your 12-yr old girl is next, and they put that same hand down your pants or your daughter’s pants? Sickening, but it is happening as we speak!

Ever notice how the employees at Subway will remove their gloves to take your money, throw the gloves down on the counter anywhere, then put the same ones back on for the next customer? I notice it every time.

...going through in socks, where others may have walked through earlier with their boots on caked with dried dog shit coming off in shavings on the bare TSA/Airport floor in the exact same area, in addition to one putting persona items in tubs which have had shoes in them earlier

Exactly! It finally dawned on me on what I could subject myself to. I mentioned it to somebody who never thought about this.

On future flights I (1) put all pocket contents into a plastic baggie; and (2) put a sheet of newspaper in the box before placing jackets, laptop, etc. into them.

Some airports I have been through have a box of plastic footies to put on. Go figure why this is not standard at all locations.

Passing STDs from pat downs?

Yeah, they may be invasive, but not THAT invaseive!

Or are you just totally clueless about STD transmission?

That’s the last straw. I am not flying again unless it’s life or death. Even then I’ll think twice.

You mean, crap as in, oh no, I might have a reaction? Or crap, and I was so looking forward to being molested by my government?

Yea that’s bad :( You know how TSA will treat you. They’d probably jail you and fine you for having a reaction. And no you can’t take a boat to England. I suppose you could but, how inconvenient. That really is crappy. Hopefully the uproar will cause the TSA to stop this abusive behavior, but, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

You should have called the health department, as well. It is a violation they look for when they do inspections and a pretty severe one. I have called the health department a couple of times, and they do take this kind-of thing seriously, and it usually results in extra heat on the restaurant in question- they change their behavior fast, when they think they might get shut down, even for just a couple of days.

and I saw one of the employees who was handling pizzas use one of his sanitary-gloved forefingers and wipe his nose, then grab a pizza to take it to a customer at a table.

I've seen "and pick something up off the floor, and then continue to serve food with the gloved hand" before. They aren't trained to change gloves, apparently.
