I don’t understand this, are you saying conservatives don’t exist in NJ? That everyone in NJ are purple instead of red?

In other words, you support the NRA which has a proclivity to support liberals. Based on your exegesis you should be as anathema as Christie.

He may have evolved into a more pro-2A person since this was made, though this is definitely something to look if he is going to be a candidate for 2012.

This is tiresome. We are bad-mouthing every potential Republican candidate. What do we want . . . nothing is worthy but Sarah? In this vain all we’ll end up with is four more years of the community agitator. For our country’s sake, for our children’s sake, we must stop bickering and dividing our side and focus on stopping the real enemy.

Not at all. I have a 2A litmus test and abhor any pol who does not uphold the 2A. (and am not a fan of the NRA and am letting my membership expire)

What about Rick Perry of Texas?
IMO, he is the most underrated candidate out there.

See the part at the bottom where it says:

But..back to this threads premise. Like I said, Christie is as conservative as they come. While I doubt he is really waffly about the 2nd Amendment, if he has a blip with the 2A it would not stop me from voting for him, because I know that we can beat him IF he advocated positions against the 2A just as we have over the years with others. The overwhelming preponderance of the guys record is conservative.

What about Rick Perry of Texas?I don't know much about him, but my point is to not bad-mouth any of the potential Repub candidates at this point. We need electable candidates to go against the community agitator -- don't underestimate his union power-base -- if we want to take the country back from the marxists.

Red —
Texan here, and I can assure you that Perry is the most OVERrated prospective candidate out there.
Only reason he keeps winning here is because the Dems in Texas are too weak to put up any decent opposition.
LOTS of bad baggage.
Would I vote for him? Sure. I’d vote for anyone over Obama. But not if I can help it.
I know good conservative Texans who voted straight R except for the governor’s race this year, left it blank just because they can’t stomach Perry.
I plan to actively work against Perry.

Since when is it a conservative principle to support 2nd Amendment infringements?
HANNITY: Are there any issues where you are, quote, moderate to left as a Republican?
CHRISTIE: Listen, I favor some of the gun-control measures we have in New Jersey.
HANNITY: Bad idea.
CHRISTIE: Listen, we have a densely-populated state, and there's a big hand gun problem in New Jersey. Now, I don't support all the things that the governor supports by a long stretch. But I think on guns certain gun control issues, looking at it from a law-enforcement perspective, seeing how many police officers were killed, we have an illegal gun problem in New Jersey.
HANNITY: Should every should every citizen in the state be allowed to get a licensed weapon if they want one?
CHRISTIE: In New Jersey, that's not going to happen, Sean.
HANNITY: Why?
CHRISTIE: Listen, the Democratic legislature we have, there's no way those type of things listen, at the end of the day, what I support are common sense laws that will allow people to protect themselves, but I also am very concerned about the safety of our police officers on the streets, very concerned. And I want to make sure that we don't have an abundance of guns out there.

I’m sure some do exist. I’ve met quite a few and even the NJ conservatives would be considered liberals down here in Florida.

I see several worthies out there including DeMint and Pence but I’m not convinced they’ll run. I cannot support someone who supported a backstabbing squish like Mike Castle who was caucusing with 0 and Biden. And not being strong on the 2A is an absolute non-starter. To me that indicates a politician does who doesn’t understand the concept of limited government and unalienable rights but they rather see government as a tool to control the people.
From what I’ve seen so far Christie is a no-go.

IMO, he is the most underrated candidate out there. He was a much better alternative for Texas than Bill White - but that isn't too difficult a bar to clear. He's not underrated by any stretch of the imagination and he's definitely not POTUS material (IMHO).
