Sarah Palin says she is seriously considering a run for the White House, and she believes she could beat President Obama in 2012, the former Alaska governor told ABC News' Barbara Walters. "I'm looking at the lay of the land now, and ... trying to figure that out, if it's a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it's a good thing," Palin said in an interview scheduled to air in full Dec. 9 on ABC as part of Walters' "10 Most Fascinating People" of 2010.

“When you start doing reality shows it kind of relegates you being a media type.”

Where is that rule written? We live in a media age. Obama is nothing but a living example. Don’t kid yourself, Sarah is very media saavy, plus she has firm principles, unlike Mitt.

Sarah Palin has qualities that were sorely lacking in the last Republican presidential field. She is charming, articulate, attractive, knows her own mind, and has a compelling personal story and good conservative creds.

But: Her experience in government, at any significant level, consists solely of being a governor for 2 1/2 years and then quitting.

Question:What states does she win to get to the magic electoral number?

Take California and the whole Northeast out of the equation. Someone please give me the electoral numbers.

A not-even-one-term governor from a small population state, who had negative approval ratings there, and who was selected to the Veep spot by a loser candidate in a desparation move, is not an ideal candidate.

We must win in ‘12. We need to pick someone with lower negatives who people will feel secure voting for.

As much as I like Sarah personally, she is simply too risky to nominate against Zero. We will have many more “safer” true conservatives running in ‘12.

I believe she can win. The democrats have just helped her by keeping Pelosi as minority leader and by flicking their middle fingers at the American people because the dems think this last election does not have repercussions for them

The First Token and his czars are going to push their ideology like never before. This is all in Sarah’s favor.

Her negatives are too high...

Enough...have you actually been awake during the last 20 years?

I see the blacks sure want to push this guy down our throats at the cost of our Country. Seems like grounds for racism to me.

O’Donnell was unelectable in a blue state.

Can we afford to have Zero again by picking an unelectable candidate on the national level. Didn’t we already do that with McLame? This is not a red country on the Presidential level, Dems have won 3 of the last 5, it is purple on that level.

Right. Romney, the father of Massachussetts’ socialized health care is going to somehow be competitive against Obama? If Romney gets the nomination in 2012 I’d almost rather vote for Obama and at least get someone who’s honest about being a socialist.

“She’s no conservative”

And i simple HAVE to ask, in your mind, who do you see as significantly to the right of Sarah?

We need someone who will win.

I think she’s been running for at least a year now.

Of course, she’s not going to share anything about that with us until she leaves office in 2021.
