I don’t like it any more than you do, but reality is reality. Miller was my favorite Senate candidate this cycle. I really wanted him to win. He is far more Conservative and far more qualified than MurCOWski. However, Alaska allows for write-in candidates, and MurCOWski took advantage. I personally believe that we should work for a “sore-loser” provision in Alaska law, that would prohibit this in the future. Regardless, the Constitution simply doesn’t allow for a recall, even if “self-nominated.”
Almost all the military ballots have already been counted in the last week. Military voters have until the 17th for their ballots to arrive, but the state knows how many they sent out vs. how many have been returned already, and say no more than 600 are still out.
I’m not throwing in the towel yet. It’s like getting a date. Sometimes you have to ask a couple times but without stalking her. The House has ALWAYS been less corrupt and less leftist than the Senate. The Senate will take a bit longer to infiltrate.

How is it undemocratic? Murkowski agreed to abide by the rules when she ran her campaign.
She lost so she wasn’t willing to play by the rules that she had accepted at the start.
Presumably had the tables been turned, she’d have insisted that Miller drop out.

She lost, game over. I really wish the Republicans had the stones to tell her, “tough shit”, you lost. Time to back Miller.
But we all know RINOs support their own.

You are trying to be pragmatic. That is not good. You are trying to compromise on ideology. That is also no good.
It is OK if democrats get elected in states like Delaware, Nevada, Colorado rather than getting RINO’s elected. So what if Reid is the majority leader and can call the shots on which bills can come to the floor. So what if if the majority leader in senate is not Republican. The main objective is to get rid of all RINO’s.

After 7 days of write-in ballot counting, Republican nominee Joe Miller still leads incumbent Lisa Murkowski in the uncontested write-in ballot count. As of Monday night, nearly all write-in votes have been counted. Joe Miller has 90,448 uncontested votes and Murkowski only has 84.563. If current trends hold, Miller and Murkowski will likely end up in a dead heat in the uncontested ballot count.
Alaska allows for write-ins. She took advantage of that. The GOP simply can’t tell her “you lost”, when the State allows a candidate to run for office as a write-in.
Yes, Murkowski is leading Miller on undisputed ballots by roughly 2,200 votes. Miller had to have known he was in trouble just based on the number of write in ballots that were cast. His only hope was that not enough of them would be counted and even if he wins all of his challenges he probably will still wind up behind. It’s all over but the shouting.
BTW, good comparison with Joe Leiberman and Ned Lamont. Both races featured contentious primaries where an incumbent was defeated only to stay in the race and win thanks in large part to token opposition from the other party (Schlesinger in Connecticut, McAdams in Alaska). Of course, the big difference is that Murkowski is on the verge of being the first candidate to win a Senate race via write-in votes since Strom Thurmond in 1954.
I think what is being forgotten is all the wins in the statehouses. I never thought we would win the Senate, and most people agreed, Dick Morris excluded. We win what, 60 seats in the House? That is AMAZING!
Conservatives can win in most places; it is simply about making sure those Conservatives are electable candidates.

Even if all of the challenged ballots were taken away from MurCOWski, she would still have about 2,000 more votes than Miller.

A Governor is a state official. A Senator is a Federal official.
And the Constitution makes no provision for recall of any federal officer.
