TSA: Despite objections, all passengers must be screened

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- In response to a video of a California man's dispute with airport security officials, the Transportation Security Administration said Monday it tries to be sensitive to individuals, but everyone getting on a flight must be screened.

The video, in which software engineer John Tyner refuses an X-ray scan at the San Diego, California, airport, has sparked a debate over screening procedures.

Yes. When air travel, hotels, casinos and such suffer, someone may care. For now empire building in TSA/HLS runs rampant. Geniuses declare that what they tried last time will be prohibited next time. We could hire grade school kids cheaper and they might have better ideas.

Keep the metal detectors and have a bomb/exposives sniffing dog at every gate. Only use airport security by privately run security companies trained by El Al. Do away with the TSA and hire more air marshals on all flights, say 3 or 4 at all points throughout the plane. Allow them to profile.

Isn't it ironic. If you did give a "return grope", you'd probably be charged with sexual assault or battery, which is defined as an offensive touching. But if you want to board a plane, you are REQUIRED to expose yourself to a stranger or submit to a battery and sexual assault in order to appease the false god of Political Correctness.

As someone posted above, what will "security procedures" be in the event a terrorist uses breast implants or a body cavity to hide explosives? Will those on here who mock those bothered by the groping or naked scans still cheerfully submit when a mammogram or cavity search is mandated by Big Sis?

Sums it up. There are some here at FR that still say it is us just being too sensitive or making other excuses for this stupidity.

I saw this crap coming back in 2002 and quit flying then. Used up my flight miles and now I drive or I don’t go. Its that simple.

I thought it was bad in 2002 but it has gotten worse and worse. And now I just read that TSA will be allowed to unionize. Yea, that makes me feel safer!
