Tea Party Activists Tell Republicans to Avoid Abortion
Washington, DC -- The fiscally conservative tea party activists were crucial to electing pro-life candidates in the 2010 mid-term elections, but now they are calling on Republicans in Congress to avoid social issues like abortion.

Maybe you should go read the Declaration of Independence again, you know the part about LIFE, Liberty, etc.

that is not the impression I got from tea party convention here in Nashville last winter. I was there and several folks spoke about ending abortion.

Like it or not, the abortion issue has been a big part of American politics ever since the SCOTUS legislated the right of women to kill their unborn children.
I suggest you read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and tell me where government sanctioned killing of the unborn is written down.
The federal government #1 job is to serve, protect and defend the American people. That goes for the most innocent in our society, the unborn.

With the current court structure, there is not much that can be done regarding abortion. Need to wait for Ginsburg, the wise latina, or the dyke to die.
Fiscally, you can starve Planned Parenthood, which is a very effective strategy. They are in the baby killing business for profit. Squeeze off the profit, you cut the supply.

Please do. There are eight million things that need to be attended to that we can actually legislate and fix. These jagoffs are DETERMINED to kill their children, people. You cant save those kids. Theyre equally determined to come after your kids, and your wallet. Now that is something you can do something about. Hey troll, you may have missed the message the past couple days, but this is a PRO-LIFE FORUM.
There is a child murdered EVERY 24 SECONDS, if we don't do something about that then we DESERVE whatever misery we get.

Abortion is a moral issue that individuals need to deal with on their own. Religious leaders may preach about it, but politicians should ONLY focus on our economy, defense (not offense), trade, and the American quality of life. Hey troll, FR is a PRO-LIFE FORUM and killing a baby every 24 seconds DOES affect the quality of life.
Go back to DU!

Religious leaders may preach about it, but politicians should ONLY focus on our economy, defense (not offense), trade, and the American quality of life. The American quality of life (as you stated) is exactly what abortion is all about. The "quality of life" for every American. Why do you think we should exclude the unborn when talking about all Americans? The unborn child just as much a human being as you and I. The issue of abortion is at least as important as the economy.

Could both sides possibly COMPROMISE and agree to just these two points. 1 - NO TAX PAYER MONEY to fund abortions.
2- NO abortions after the 6th month of pregnancy.
Hey troll, your "compromise" essentially preserves the status quo and kills a baby every 24 seconds.

Our own Senator-elect Pat Toomey, who we met at a TEA Party event in the summer of 2009, has made absolutely no efforts to hide his pro-life views.
In fact, one of the mailers he sent out featured them prominently. This story doesn't pass the smell test.
The Karl Roves of the GOP may think separating economic conservatism and social conservatism is a winning strategy, but few people in the TEA Party feel the same way.

The issue is that the Tea Party was NOT formed based on social issues. It was formed in response to government spending and really picked up a lot of steam in opposition to Obamacare.
The social conservatives did not form the Tea Party. They jumped on the bandwagon because they share a common enemy (Obama) with fiscal conservatives. It was the fiscal conservatives that started the movement and those people will fight tooth and nail to keep their message at the top of the agenda.
But this will become a bigger problem as the GOP gains more power. The social conservatives will want to push pro-life issues while the fiscal conservatives say, “Not now...” This is going to cause some bloodletting in the 2012 GOP primary for sure.
Remember that the Tea Party has no leadership. There is no central thesis other than to oppose Big Brother and government spending. When you look at the other issues, it gets cloudy.

Divisive propaganda.
Take the Marxist murderers out of power first, defund and punish their killing of moral and innocent people, defund their evil indoctrination of the ignorant, investigate and prosecute and punish criminal and seditionist activity, and you're 90% completed in protecting unborn children.

Just curious, why pick that arbitrary date?
