Hannity was surprised to hear a famous ex Air Force General tell him That Is A Missile, Shot From A Submarine! I quote retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney (ex commander of 11th Air Force in Alaska) I spent 35 years flying fighters, and you can see the guidance system kick in, I have watched that film 10 times, I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft, but a sub launch ICBM missile!!! See the video and judge his words for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LivRJOWrcpA&feature=player_embedded#! I will next post a clickable link.
Nah...those folks just insult themselves. I’ve been here a long time, and I’ve found that those who are quick to anger and enjoy a game of taunting others -— well, they don’t hold some of the core values of FReepers at all. Intolerance for other’s opinions is a dead giveaway of the left.
I really do come here to learn and to share ideas & information. Those who stick around threads just to heckle and trip up the steps of others, are in my opinion like a piece of old gum stuck to your shoe. I feel that I can either do my best to ignore the “gum” and enjoy my day, or I can get all worked up about it. These people sometimes resemble drill sergeants to me because they get right up in your face, tell you what to think, they tell you you’re basically stupid and they yell at you some more.
Myself, simply put I don’t trust anyone in our government anymore and I am a seeker of the truth. And over the past few years, I’m probably even more inclined to believe the exact opposite of anything coming from the fed. I just want the facts.
So that said, thanks for the support. My husband just retired from the Marine Corps, and given the “training” I’ve had over the last 20 years or so, I’ve learned that the strongest and most impressive people I’ve ever met are all within the Marine family and on my side.
Interesting reading on Contrail Sciences Mick Wests background:

People make mistakes.

Yes
I have had some amazing insults thrown at me.
I don’t understand why- I thought we came here to discuss.
Apparently not agreeing with a few people here means you are an open target or something ... guess I need a thicker skin.
And realize that FR is a magnet for all kinds - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the paid influencer.
Looks like a missle but where did it come down at?
Yes I followed the link and I think it does look kind of like a contrail. I can’t say though that a contrail would expand in the way this plume does. A contrail was my first thought but the shape, near the rocket, looks more like a slightly over expanded supersonic fluid jet designed to reach maximum thrust at a lower atmospheric pressure, i.e. not a gas turbine jet, certainly not one with a high bypass ratio typical of a commercial aircraft where the Kelvin-Helmholtz vortexes appear as the jet decelerates.
My suspicions were heightened when I say the color changes in the immediate exhaust. They are not from water vapor or Jet A soot.
Early on at FR it wasn’t like this. Some believe there are posers here now. I think a lot of it stems from people who joined who were interested in the right’s philosophy but who never were really on board to begin with; similar to Blue Dogs and RINOs.
Sorry you’ve had a negative experience here. There are many FReepers still here from FR’s younger years, and they are what keeps this place going...outside of Mr. R., of course. :)
Do you think the objects in 303 and 308 are the same type or is one a missile and one a plane? Both missiles? Both planes? Which.
True, but that's a pretty doctrinaire comment when dismissing the opinion of acknowledged experts opining on specialized subjects that just happen to be their area of expertise.
Why should USAir say anything? All they did was fly their usual flightpath and schedule...
It was some news-hungry reporter in a helicopter who started this nonsense. (BTW, where did that bogus "35 miles" figure come from?
Depending on staging, the missile (one stage) simply stops emitting gasses and coasts down into the middle of the Pacific. Falling objects from 150,000 ft or under don't “fireball” like breaking up Space Shuttles do. A single upper stage that is fuel and engine parts breaks up and sin’t likely to be seen over the mid-Pacific.
A re-entry capsule or bomb casing - IF (big IF there!!!) isn't easay to see, and isn't even really necessary. The purpose, you see, would be for some foreign power to show off the LAUNCH of their missile from near the US coast, not to actually land a capsule or bomb anywhere in particular.
Right?
And who do you use to dismiss Al’s “consensus?”
OK ... now the question; What Nations Sub and why so close to our shores undetected?
In the original reports they were saying quite clearly “35 miles off shore”.
Who determined that?
How?
Could it be 60 miles offshore?
100?
Where no planes and boats are ie can only be caught, by accident, by a helicopter cam?
Did one or two other pilots see the 90 second boost phase? 60 second boost phase??? None? Too far out? Told to shut up?
Several people have stated that yes the military is quietly panicked but what can they do? Better to pretend it never happened and avoid tremendous public outrage ...
All speculation.
But seeing the smoke plume and burn and course correction is not.
It is obvious to the 3 experts I have quoted, but don’t you know that armchair angry bloggers know better ??? The earth is round!!!
I’m sorry, maybe I was talking with food in my mouth. I will try to read it tomorrow. I’m tired right now. I looked thru it once.
Thanks
We can't shoot down ANY missile launched from the near Pacific coast when they are headed out west towards the sea. Sure, we have limited, partially-tested ABM capability being developed to (maybe!, under good conditions, and IF the ship in in the right place!) to shoot SOME ballistic missiles from SOME! - a very few - USN ships.
But do you think any were positioned off the coast of LA at the exact right moment to go to a war footing - off our own coast! - and get permission from Obama to actually shoot down an unknown ???? smoke plume ???? that suddenly appeared off the coast?
Just getting word to Washington just to start getting permission would take too long.
