The video below suggests the mystery missile launch was the USA showing Asia/China and Russia our ability to launch Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) from a submarine while OBAMBI is in Asia!
Since when has there been ANY doubt we have the capability to do this? That the USA has submarine launch ability to hit China or to hit Russia!
The first, a Pacific launch was 35 miles off Southern California and headed on a North-East - across America trajectory.
The second, shortly after that, was a first ever Atlantic launch and reportedly went up above New York.

Yes it makes you look twice, it’ is however a contrail
I am an experienced private pilot so I knew pretty quick what it was having experienced similar before.
At this point people still entertaining this is a rocket or missile is beyond silly and well into Art Bell land now given the vast amount of evidence it was simply a contrail airliner lighting illlusion.
....................And, another plane on the very next day made a similar contrail........................

So that’s why the News helo guy, up there every evening during evening drive, was so enthralled at the sight, that he spent ten minutes filming that particular (”Missle”), a sight that he supposedly had never seen before! -Even though it “happens all the time”!
(I wonder if the pilot got fired for not filming all the beautiful people in their limosines, stuck on the freeway, with no news feed from the chopper)
The contrail shadow in post 49 is a clue about the trajectory of the airplane leaving the contrail. It’s a tight shadow indicating the airplane is coming towards the photographer, away from the setting sun.
People are forgetting the earth is round!

Weather has to be just right for lots of the contrails.

And as an earlier poster said it’s amazing how many on FR now try to stifle opinion and tend to vilify those with different opinions as nutcases or post an IBTZ without bothering with facts or their reasons. Definitely not constructive.

It isn’t flight 808 and it isn’t UPS902, it’s a missile.
I may have missed it, but have yet to see anyone address what seems to be a helicopter in the vicinity. The video seems to show it moving towards the plume, but my untrained eye sees the helicopter facing the opposite direction. Has this helicopter been identified and did the pilot report seeing anything other than normal air traffic?
Jon Stewart has said that it was an airplane so I guess that settles it once and for all. You can’t argue with Jon Stewart, Unicorn from Contrails “Science” and a bird photographer.

Indeed. I was set on this being a missile until I started reading this thread - then realized that what I was seeing was something flying TOWARDS me. That clears it up completely. I've taken the tin foil hat off.

Hmmm...Ontario just east of LA..that would explain why the contrail disappeared...the aircraft was descending.
Looking forward to seeing flight plan to see when descent started
There are more photos of the contrail shadow there.
There’s no physical way a vertical missle contrail would leave a shadow in line with the setting sun like this contrail does.

And why would a NOTAM be issued for an airplane contrail, anyway?
Looks like an airplane after it gets going.
