The Pentagon Tuesday said it was trying to determine if a missile was launched Monday off the coast of Southern California and who might have launched it.

1. Because other credible people are going to believe you, I think you are mistaken, and I'm just trying to turn the tide a little. I tend to do the same thing with other conspiracy theories that don't seem correct to me.
2. By the way, I don't follow all your posts, but I have always been under the impression that you are one of the good guys around here, so my disagreement is nothing personal. I'm kind of surprised that you believe in something like this.
3. Apparently I have already convinced you that you didn't see "NSA".
BTW, *WHY* was the *CIA* producing ANY video about this?
I think that in the early days of the investigation, a lot of people in the government thought that maybe there was a missile, so the CIA got involved to see if there was any truth in this. When they reached their conclusions, they made an animated video to describe them and gave it to the FBI. At the time, the CIA may have had more expertise in putting together something like this than other agencies. The FBI then released the video to the public.
There is some info on the CIA website about this. They say that the FBI asked them to help and there was a law authorizing them to do so.
According to your theory the CIA must have already made a video and released it to the news media before the accident even happened.
the only point of reference I’ve seen is the only helicopter that goes across the screen in the video. The size of that contrail is not in any way from an airplane of any kind- unless that ‘airplane’ is a V-2 rocket!
For reference I have seen videos from Vandenburg AF Base launches that do look very similar, in addition to Space Shuttle launches which are huge even in comparison to this contrail.
Guess he doesn’t think much of live satellite feeds, and how many nautical miles they can scan in a given day.
So, what can “we” conclude from this event?
As for myself I go back to JFK. I was quite young when it happened but my memory is quite good. There have been many conspiracy explanations, non of which may be true, non satisfactory to me. The only thing I surmized from that piece of history is that authorities will go to great lenghts to cover their shortcomings.
Meanwhile, whatever truely occured persists undisturbed.
Yep. You have to ask where the money went when every intelligence agency in our country missed the threat and every weapon system stood idle for way too long.
That should make it simple to find that jet, dont you think?
Give them time. They'll come up with one.
That doesn't explain why you are trying (unsuccessfully) to convince ME I didn't see what I saw.
3. Apparently I have already convinced you that you didn't see "NSA".
Incorrect. I saw a NSA watermark on the 'explanation video' within 5 minutes of the first airing of the TWA 800 'accident'.
If it was a plane’s contrail, it should be easy to plug in the time and direction of the “plane” and backtrack to LAX or whatever airport to get the flight #, take off time, and destination.
FAA should be able to back track with the above data to determine if it was a plane, where it took off, when it took off and its destination using basic mid school geometry and algebra.
So far we haven’t been told those specifics.

for the likely flight (US Airways #808 > 08-Nov-2010 > PHNL-KPHX passing overhead just to the south of the Los Angeles area en route to Phoenix from Honolulu).
“who exactly is supposed to be impressed by this?”
Just the US government without alarming the stock market. Since China is so invested in the US, they had to be subtle. That’s the thinking.
