Theyre the leading contenders for now for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, and, perhaps not surprisingly, theyre the best liked of 14 top party players among likely GOP primary voters.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of those voters finds that 82% have a favorable opinion of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the partys vice presidential nominee in 2008, while just 17% view her unfavorably. That includes 50% with a Very Favorable opinion and eight percent (8%) with a Very Unfavorable one.

Michael Savage just said that Rubio could possibly move up fast enough to make a run in 2012 . His hispanic heritage wouldn’t hurt , either .
Obama was an unknown and look how far he got in 2 years .
I like Sarah Palin and would vote for her in a heartbeat. (Heck, I voted for HER in 2008, not McCain!) But I do think, if she wants to be President, she needs a very strong running mate for VP. DeMint would be awesome, but so would Paul Ryan from Wisconsin. He’s still young but knows his stuff and seems to be squeaky clean.
The key for whomever the nominee is, is to STAY ON POINT. Don’t get sidetracked by the MSM or our Dear Leader’s attack dogs. Continue talking solid, conservative principles. The economy will still be crap under this administration and will speak for itself. Plus the grassroots folks can do that dirty work. Our nominee needs to stay focused, to the point of almost making Obummer irrelevant.
Well, Sarah, the people seem to be asking you!
================================
That's the ticket! Keyes on top or Palin on top, it doesn't matter. One can count on these two to do what's in the best interest of the country.
I’m not settling for anything less than a staunch constitutionalist at this point. If you’ve got one who is stronger and better than Palin, great. I’ll add them to my short list.
But if all you’ve got is a Huck or a Romney, you can forget it. You will either lose or you’ll break this party. No more McCains.
If you want to see the GOP sloughed off like old snake skin and replaced by a new party, just keep pushing the “moderates”.
We will see two years is a long time. With many new conservatives we may see someone, like Palin in ‘08, come out of nowhere.
“Get in line or out of the way.” Sounds like a Democrat/Socialist/Totalitarian and utterly Un-American slogan. Trying to silence differing opinions already?
I have to hand it to you - you do have a vision. I hadn't thought through this angle as much. We definitely do need to capture the next generation for Freedom and Constitutional Conservatism.
Palin also preempts the ‘thrill’ of a RAT campaign with Hillary (for 1st female POTUS) vs. name a male R candidate, which Hillary swears she won't do til at least 2020 now, if I'm to believe headlines...
And, yes, DeMint is already on my short list.
“Bobby Jindal is a great governor”
I love your posts, RedMDer, but you are wrong on Jindal. He is a disaster as Governor. He did not campaign for any candidates here in Louisiana and he has governed as a big government RINO. His first action was a private deal to double legislative pay so his staff could get huge salaries.(He eventually backed down when it became known) Even more odious, after David Vitter cleared the field for him to run for his old seat in Congress in 2004 (even though he moved to Kenner from Baton Rouge and was really not a resident of the district) and supported him twice for Governor, he couldn’t bring himself to endorse Vitter. He is disloyal and selfish beyond belief.
Trust me. Jindal and Romney are cut from the same spineless, treacherous cloth.
Bachmann / West works for me , too .
There is really a double standard against women!
Why is there no ganging up against the Republican Men?
Now that’s GREAT!!!!!!!! I love it. :)

No newbie. I have seen the meme before on this board. “Oh, she’s a great cheerleader, but let someone else run.” It is an Establishment talking point to which Freepers are wise.
You aren’t fooling anyone.
Who is this mysterious archon who is going to suddenly emerge and overcome 50% VERY FAVORABLES, genius? We are waiting for your answer..... (but not holding our breath)
“DeMint would be awesome, but so would Paul Ryan from Wisconsin. Hes still young but knows his stuff and seems to be squeaky clean.”
Great idea is DeMint would have it from the 2 year Governor. I also like Ryan as VEEP for anyone.
“The economy will still be crap under this administration and will speak for itself. Plus the grassroots folks can do that dirty work. Our nominee needs to stay focused, to the point of almost making Obummer irrelevant.”
As sad as this is, it’s true - 2012 *should* see a Republican POTUS elected.
Getting from *should* to a Republican in the WH is the trick. But I do like our chances - and I think we’ll be wiser and way more energized than in 2008. There will be no McCain muddying up the waters this time. Tea Parties will continue to have a huge impact - we’ll have gotten much better at the ground game also with the successes - and failures - of 2010 (and of course God!) guiding us.
YES!!!!YES!! SARAH ROCKS THE HOUSE WHEREVER SHE IS! I love this woman! She has always talked the talk and walked the walk! Let’s go Sarah!! Whoever she chooses as a running mate...we are going to be proud!
xox onyx...you know MA took a beating Tuesday but I met so many people who worked on the Sean Bielat campaign and they are now my life long friends...Sean was not even the Congressman in my district...but my heart was with him!
That is a lie, Jindal never said any such thing.
Thanks. Even without knowing all the specifics in your post, Jindal’s not on my short list either.
