I can think of so many reasons not to go to Mexico. Why would any sane American spend their time and money there?

Well it was a ‘status’ thing for a long time (imo). You know, “we’re going to Mexico for our vacation”. This may be judgemental, but I always found it sort of disgusting that people could shrug off the destitution of that country in order to have a ‘good time’. They are overall an impoverished nation and most likely within a short distance of these hedonistic resorts are people fighting for survival. Now...well now the violence is so bad why would anyone chance it.

It used to be a great, inexpensive getaway.
Wife, son and I visited Ixtapa for a week on the Pacific coast just about every winter back in the 80s and 90s.
Good chow, nice drinks and courteous staff were the rule. Not sure I want to go back right now...

I’m glad I visited Acapulco in its heyday. Now there is absolutely no desire to return.
Apparently, there is a St. Valentine’s Day Massacre every week.

Stop visiting Mexico!
Our president should be tossed out ASAP if he doesn't do something to secure our borders.
We should only allow a very small trickle of people in and out of Mexico even temporarily.
Don't let the crime come up North.
If Obama wants to have ANY chance of even running again in 2012, he needs to stop suing Arizona for trying to keep the crime and jobstealers out.

Pay no attention to those Americans up north waving fists full of dollars....

Reasons to go to Mexico
1. Mexico City (70 degrees F year round)
2. Yucatan (Cancun, Cozumel, Mayan ruins)
3. Copper Canyon
4. Pacific Ocean
5. Carribean
6. Fishing
Just my own personal experience. But if you get easily paranoid, traveling to any foreign country is not recommended.
To: Responsibility2nd
solved by thugs who detained the killers, posted their confessions on the Internet, then murdered them "We are federales -- you know, mounted police."
"If you're the police, where are your badges?"
"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"

President Obama should take his India trip with 34 warships to Mexico.

Reasons to go to MexicoLet me add:
-The nicest people in this hemisphere
-The best food
-Mexican Coke
To: Seven plus One
We went down to Huatulco when it built its second hotel. The place really was just hacked out of the jungle. We saw all kinds of exotic birds and lizards but other than laying around on the beach, there wasn't much to do.
We got a reservation for a couple of days in Oaxaca and flew up there on a DC 3 to experience “real Mexico.” We had a ball.
To: Seven plus One
-Mexican Coke I tried snorting it, but I found out that it tastes better if I just drink it.
