With South Carolina's victory of the first 'Deep South' black Republican to Congress since Reconstruction, one conservative thinks it's evident that the tea party is not racist.
Ron Miller, a conservative author, columnist, veteran and tea party member, says Tim Scott's election to Congress is "an impressive victory."
"I think it's a great testimony to Americans' ability to evaluate people by the content of their character, rather than the color of their skin..."
----snip.
In winning the election, Scott beat out....the son of late Senator Strom Thurmond and the son of former South Carolina Governor Carroll Campbell.
----snip
"...they've demonstrated their ability, not just with Tim Scott's election, but with Nikki Haley's election as the first female and Indian-American governor of that state, that they're perfectly capable of voting based on the issues..."

Allen West, a retired Army officer and an Iraq War veteran, won his race for the House and will be representing Florida's 22nd District.
----snip
"I think that [the elections of] Allen West and Tim Scott are the beginning of an awakening...
---snip
"But I believe that that awakening is now starting to happen in the black precincts across this country, and I think we're going to see a shift away from the Democrat [sic] Party, which has ill-served the black community for decades now."
While the nation made history two years ago by electing Barack Obama as the first black president, Jackson believes much of that support was misguided.
I think we were making history for the wrong reasons because we were electing someone [largely] based on emotion, based on wanting to try to move the country forward racially -- as opposed to based on the principles of the man...

"I think that the black community is just tired of that [message]...

Georgetown is Michelle’s hometown.
You're thinking of his brother, Sterling Sharpe. Shannon played for the Denver Broncos for most of his career, with 2 years with the Ravens in the middle, then back to the Broncos before he retired. He said some scathing things about 0bambi during the 2008 election cycle, right before the first year he was eligible for the Hall of Fame. I don't think the media has any intention of letting that slide.
The more conservative blacks the better. The survival of the urban plantation created by Democrats depends on the permanent servitude of a captive people. In the 19th century we called this slavery.
Oh, so then he’d run in Colorado?
I think his home is in Georgia. But, don’t quote me on that.
Note to media:
I don’t give a rats behind what the color of the candidate is, just as long as he is a conservative, not a Marxist/Communist like “The Oblivious One”!
I have been critical of the notion of a Black “conservative” before, and since both Scott and West were elected by Whites I still stand on that position. I would love to be wrong, but I just don’t see any Black conservatives.
Florida Lt governor as well, Jennifer Carroll?
I would prefer blacks who became athletic through the military and serving. Not thug athletes.
But others prefer thug athletes. As long as the thug athlete is acceptably conservative. NO MORE RINOS.
I don’t care about anybody’s background as long as they vote right.
Thug athletes will appeal to Democrats. That’s how we get votes beyond Conservatives.
Have there been tests of black conservatives going up against white liberals in Urban areas of the Northeast or West Coast?
Are there any Conservative Rappers?
Amen!
Lets not cater to the lowest common denominator. We wouldn’t want such people who are enamourd of thug athletes anyway.
Lets not cater to the lowest common denominator. We wouldn’t want such people who are enamourd of thug athletes anyway.
Yes we would. Voters are voters. As long as the candidate is right on the issues, we’re going to have to find voters where we can.
That’s the new calculation.
Fully conservative, so that every conservative is excited enough to vote for the candidate. Plus, find voters elsewhere. If it’s a thug athlete, or a rapper, fine. Find out - what do the people like that are not conservative? Give them one of those, but fully conservative.
What race are they? What do they do? What religion are they?
Give them a Conservative Coal Miner in West Virginia.
Are there any blocks of votes, nationalities, in a state or a district that typically vote Democrat. We give them a conservative version of what they are.
Can we find a guy in a Union to be a Conservative Republican?
Any of these things. What Dems are, but voting fully Conservative. Let Democrats be the party of Lawyers.
“Let Democrats be the party of Lawyers.”
And entertainers, hippies, eviroterrorists, and other terrorist misc. As for the others, you have a good idea about miners, waitresses, truckers, people who are grassroots. We need ot encourage people to stop not trying because they dont’ have wads of money.
Let’s not give them entertainers. Reagan was an actor.
Many entertainers are liberals, yes, but we should find popular entertainers. You want a distracting US Senate race? Mel Gibson vs Dianne Feinstein.
There’s a Hispanic guy from Texas who toured with the TEA Party Express.
I don’t give a whit about Race, Religion, what kind of Car he drives or if he had pre-marital sex ... That MAN inspires me!
He is a Leader and he is a Damned Good One!
Let the Dummies worry about skin color
