On balance, California voters bet that the feds would rescue them. With conservatives gaining control of the House, a bailout is out of the question. The rats in California are now in a vice. Without a bailout, they will need to make large tax increases. The combination of a dreadful regulatory environment and high taxes will lead to massive flight of businesses and jobs to other states and countries.

Energy subsidies were an indirect bailout to California. With conservatives in charge of the House, I expect the ridiculous subsidies to stop or be substantially reduced. Lots of investment capital in Silicon valley has depended on energy subsidies. Federal money has supported manufacturer of solar panels. These subsidies are now on the endangered list.

I feel sorry for California conservatives. The fox is now fully in charge of the hen house. The blood letting will be painful. Hopefully, the blood letting can be limited to California without fallout to the rest of the country.

“They still believe that crap about “as California goes, so goes the nation”. Poor things haven’t bothered to notice that nobody, I mean NOBODY is following them anymore.”

Actually, that’s not completely true. Colorado is very much following the CA model. Former gov ritter turned the state over to employee’s unions four years ago by executive order. As a result, Colorado stayed blue last night even though the rest of the country went red. There is still an off chance we could end up with a majority in one of the state houses. But by and large, the wave missed us completely. Our inability to easily win the state assembly or senate in a wave election says that CO is gone because whatever we win this year, we will lose two years from now when the stars are not so well aligned.

What pisses me off is that I left CA and moved to CO when Grey Davis came to power, partly because I saw what was coming in CA. And now the same cesspool has spread to my native state, CO. Maybe I should just stay put so I don’t ruin any more states. :)

At least the GOP won’t be in charge as the state sinks into the abyss. They’ll get the blame anyway but it will be tougher to make it stick.

Every state should stand up to CA (an abbreviation for cancer and California) and pass resolutions or statutes that prohibit the federal government form bailing out California. If a CA bailout is considered, all freedom loving states must sue the Federal government to stop this action!

The worst result of New York and California staying left is it gives Obama the two largest electoral college blocks and a headstart toward reelection. That is if both states are still around in 2012...

Yeah, but what about NY and NJ and others? I WANT to see some of these states suffer for what they do. If they do not suffer they will not stop. Furthermore, my philosophy and common sense tell me that they CANNOT continue, but it seems that I am wrong.

Brown’s “successes” in his first go-around as Governor were entirely due to the guy he replaced, you may remember him, some guy named ‘Reagan.’

As I was voting in California yesterday, no one voting spoke English. All these people did was register and vote, no ID was required.

That being said, this state is full of idiots, I meet them every day. They honestly believe the Republican MINORITY caused this state to be driven into the ground? The Democrats have been in control here and have raped this state and so now they want more of the same. What a bunch of stupid ass-*les.

I wouldn’t live in California now if you paid my way and bought me a house there.

No way in hell.

1. “The Democrats now own California, and the public employee unions own the Democrats.” ‘The teacher unions and other state/county/city unions will make for any lost ground due to the few no’s Arnold said.

2. “The good news is there will not be any budget “deadlocks” since there is no one to stand in the way of more taxes. And to Democrats “more taxes” is the answer to every question.” We will now be taxed to pay for every union thug, wild a$$ed green bs and any illegals wanting a free stay in California. How will they pay for this? See your comment #3 below.

3. “My only question is will they try to repeal Prop 13 as a whole, or do it in steps with businesses first?”

‘We started seeing anti Prop 13 bumper stickers around the town, county and N California in the last few months. We have hear rumors of the state union thugs being immune to the coming increases re taxing Prop 13 homes. Off course any business in Califonia except the phoney green bs will get hammered by increases in Prop 13.’

Carly and Meg both took campaign advice from RINO’s.

Both women were afraid to mention the scientific fraud known as global warming.

Too bad, we need entrepreneurial women in government.

I live in California and I did not see one negative ad about Jerry Brown that addressed the true issues such as bankruptcy etc. Honestly. I do not feel that the Whitman campaign hit it hard enough. What was her 150 million spent on anyway—one press release that accused her of being called a “whore” by someone in the Brown campaign? No real ads to show the multitude of problems our state is confronted with and no real attacks that shone the light on Brown.
