Jerry Brown , governor redux, and California exits left
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 11/3/10 | Debra J. Saunders

California voters have spoken -- and for the most part, they decided to stop the wave of anti-Democratic voting that swept the nation at the Sierras.

Now California will have a Democratic governor, Democratic Legislature and with the passage of Prop. 25, Democratic budgeting process. For years now, the Dems have been blaming the Republican minority for the state's budget woes. That's over for the next two years. Whatever happens next with California -- it will be on Jerry Brown and his party. I sure hope Brown will prove to be the maverick he hinted he would be.

Talk to your average California Republican voter and you heard little enthusiasm for Meg Whitman. Conservatives voted for Whitman because she wasn't Jerry Brown. . . .

California businesses should realize that there are other states out there with ‘business friendly climates’ that would welcome them with open arms...many of them in the beautiful southeast. :-)

Conservatives voted for Whitman because she wasn't Jerry Brown.

This is where the GOP fails. Progressive-lite always loses to the true believers like Moonbeam. I don't know how conservative Whitman is but it sounds similar to what we have here in CT. McMahon was a RINO defeated by a true Marxist. Overall it was a great night especially in the South & Midwest. Now let's see what the GOP will do. They can compromise with Hussain and tinker with 0bamacare OR they can at least try to defund it and tear it out at the roots. One choice makes the GOP a minor party , the other will save both the GOP and the country.

CA deserves whatever happens to it after last night’s results.

And no. No I don’t want CA to get any damn taxdollars from Wash. to bail it out. So shut your stupid pieholes you sadistic boo birds who want to pile on CA FReepers about CA sliding into the Pacific, being expelled from the USA, etc., ad nauseum.

I want EVERY Californian to feel the pain that is coming. I want them to scream, wail, gnash about the pain.

Only when each and every Californian [most especially the stupid liberals and dems] feels the pain that is caused by these results will there ever be a chance to reverse this.

But for now, my plan is working. Dems are in power. They OWN everything bad that’s going to happen. Snicker.

Pissed off? That doesn’t even come close to how I feel right now.

P.S. Oh yeah, to save you the time looking at my home page to figure out if I have any standing about what I’m saying, I’ve been a resident of CA since ‘95.

IMO If you live in CA, start packing, get a truck, and head East.

Conservatives only, please...

Conservatives voted for Meg and Carly becuz our state party is so inept, it can’t tell the difference between defeat and the status quo nor seek to change either.

And once—since it is inevitable—California comes to Washington hat in hand for money to finance their deficits, I will travel to Washington (it’s only 100 miles from here) and leave a message in person to my representatives.

Oh yes, the message will not in support of California. Those people are unbelievable. They never learn.

Kaliforia gets it's just desserts with Moonbeam.

What business leadership experience does he have? None. All government work.

Kalifornia's turn for the worse began when Moonbeam was last Governor of the once great state (1974 - '82). The beginning of the end for that poor state.

I guess they figured he was their best change to get a federal bailout - the republicans had better NOT let that happen!

When Cali goes bankrupt and begins defaulting on its obligations the new Congress had better break out the popcorn and ignore their cries for a bailout.

The piper needs to be paid and the piper is NOT the rest of the American people.

You sound exactly like me.

Exact rant I have used.

The only thing I can come up with is that CA is such an economic powerhouse, with unique industries and businesses, drawing money from all over the country, that it has been able to withstand literally decades of Communist infiltration and gross fiscal mismanagement.

The Republicans in Congress must build a fiscal fence around California.

When their SEIU and AFSCME lead Government send the State down the toilet, it must be clear California is responsible for their own mess.

NO BAILOUT, PERIOD!!

During the last 2 World Series games, tv ads for Brown/Boxer seem to dominate the screen.

I don’t watch day time tv, and my wife has it on for background noise. She turned it off Monday due to the B/B ads.

So how many $’s did the DNC, unions, and George $oreA$$ drop in Calfornicator land during the last two weeks?

Now, the tax and spend socialists in charge of California budgets can pass anything they want to.

Arnold was a terrible governor, but he did veto some bs and held the legislature to half sane budgets.

Prop 13 will be in peril before next year is over.

The entire state will become a haven/refuge for illegals, and every costly Green Anti America Scam will become legal.

We have some very close friends that “escaped” five years ago. The company that the wife worked for(she was the higher money earner)moved to Montgomery, Al. They followed and are quite glad they got out when they did.

And I would like to add Massholechusetts to CA and NY.

MA, CA and NY need to be expelled from the USA, for the good of the other 47 states.

I have been reading since THE SEVENTIES!!!! about this state or that state being on the brink of bankruptcy

California typically ran a surplus during the 80s under Governors Deukmajian and Wilson.

Pretty sure Jerry Brown got the illegal alien vote.

In Sacramento, no ID is required or ninguna identificación requirió.

Fraud??? Brown won by 12 points! He may have used fraud, but he didn’t need too, California spoke left loud and clear. It is pathetic and a much bigger problem than fraud.
