“They still believe that crap about “as California goes, so goes the nation”. Poor things haven’t bothered to notice that nobody, I mean NOBODY is following them anymore.”

Actually, that’s not completely true. Colorado is very much following the CA model. Former gov ritter turned the state over to employee’s unions four years ago by executive order. As a result, Colorado stayed blue last night even though the rest of the country went red. There is still an off chance we could end up with a majority in one of the state houses. But by and large, the wave missed us completely. Our inability to easily win the state assembly or senate in a wave election says that CO is gone because whatever we win this year, we will lose two years from now when the stars are not so well aligned.

What pisses me off is that I left CA and moved to CO when Grey Davis came to power, partly because I saw what was coming in CA. And now the same cesspool has spread to my native state, CO. Maybe I should just stay put so I don’t ruin any more states. :)

Maybe Wyoming- did you see their turnout: 25% dem; 75% for the R. That's how Colorado used to be back in the early 90's when I moved here. It sucks what's happened to our beautiful, red state. Denver rules now. Just wait till the Hick gets in- there goes our water...over the divide to Denver. And our natural gas industry, too.

Disagree about Colorado. The problem here is the Republicans have been divided since Bill Owens backed Referendums C and D and split the party over a Senate nomination. We should easily have won Governor and Senate this year but the Tea Party saddled us with weak candidates.

I saw the same thing in the Kansas 3rd where Republican splits kept Dennis Moore in office for a decade. They finally quit fighting and the district went back to us this year. How long before Colorado Republicans learn the lesson it's the Democrats we oppose?

You are so right, the CO people are slow learners too, but they have a lot of company in other states.
