I dont understand that thinking. Having Castle as a win in the Senate would be like if Ted Kennedy had changed his affiliation to Republican and still voted as a socialist. Its not about having the most Rs; its about having the most conservatives/patriots. If Castle had won the primary and won tonight the GOP would have won the ILLUSION of having won the Senate...and nothing more.
The GOP would have won control of the Senate, hence the power to select who chairs the various committees, including (most especially) Judiciary. Yes, Castle would have been the poster child of all RINOs, but his caucusing with the GOP would have ensured that Senate Chairmanships would have been in the hands of the GOP, control of the agenda would have been in the hands of the GOP, and nonsense like nuclear options to overcome Fillerbustering would be put to rest.
In short, as sick as it makes me to admit it, a RINO like Castle would have had a use in a tight Senate where control of the Senate teeters on a one or two Senator margin.

Well, I'm on record as having told you all so. So now we get a friggin' Marxist Coons for
six years. Everyone who thought O'Donnell was a good idea, congratulate yourself.

Plutarch to Bigtigermike
It was stupid to primary Castle. Utah, Alaska, Arizona, go for it, even with a lousy candidate. If in a Blue State, go for if the insurgent candidate is attractive. But Blue State, weak candidate? That is just idiocy.

Rove is the enemy, he needs to be driven out if we are going to advance. Rove definitely did the enemies' work for them that night O'Donnell won the primary. He's still trying to push the same scenario for the Republican party as he did during Bush's second term: RINOs and amnesty and reaching across the aisle.

Castle would have done ONE thing that would have made a MAJOR difference nation wide: he would have caucused with the GOP and, thus, probably made the difference in who controls the Senate. After Arlen Specter, I don't trust any RINO bastard.

Is this really a surprise to anyone? Well, to many who aren't very familiar with Delaware, yes. And I had hoped for a miracle win. But...
9% of NCC reporting.
Chris Coons 65% 7,877
Christine O'Donnell 32% 3,886
She'll catch up a lot through the night, but pull it out? Nope. :-(
Instead of running for the Senate all the time, wouldn't it be neat if she actually gained some experience and demonstrated success at something local or state first?

Exit poll victory? Calling an election based on nothing? Does Fox ever learn?

Why are the majority if people ignoring the fact that THERE ARE 0 PRECINCTS REPORTING? These calls are based on exit polls ( Polls. Remember the polls saying Angle was done? That Crist was making a comeback? Kerry wins? Gore wins? etc etc) I’m waiting for solid numbers and votes.

Steele was in Delaware with her and campaigned for her and was featured on some of ads/videos. It was the NRSC that didn’t make the effort above the $49,000 contribution to her campaign.

If it were certain she would lose, then it was the wrong thing to choose her as a candidate but no one knew that and she was far preferable to Castle as a senator.Castle [R] was such a lock that Joe Biden's son decided not to even try contest to him for his Daddy's old seat.
That's what pissed off Rove.....they threw away a SURE thing.
To: Gondring
Then the republicans in DE. should have voted for Castle. They did not.

How can you call a race at 8:14 - no way! I don’t believe this thread at all.......

After Arlen Specter, [...] Speaking of Arlen Specter, I really hope that Pat Toomey survives the O'Donnell Effect! It wasn't just on the air that they used her to campaign in PA--they were talking about her door-to-door to get out the Dem votes. :-(
