Go ahead, say it. It's no longer mere fantasy or sheer folly to do so. A rare mix of veteran rejects and budding stars completed an unlikely ascent to the Major League summit Monday night, allowing all to repeat a five-word phrase never before heard:
World Series champion San Francisco Giants. The Giants made franchise history with a 3-1 triumph over the Rangers in Game 5 of the World Series, ignoring their underdog status to capture the 106th Fall Classic, four games to one.
An unlikely hero combined with a likely one to elevate San Francisco to new heights.

Congrats from a Rangers fan. SF played a great game against Texas ... excellent pitching, clutch hits, a defense that made Texas leave runners stranded. Well played.
I'm just happy to actually be able to look forward to next season. That's a new thing.

But that comment just wreaks of you being a classless fan of the winning team.

"MG. San Francisco will have a GIANT hangover tomorrow... They embarrassed their city by going right into RIOT MODE so they could be just like Detroit, Pittsburgh and Chicago

I tip my hat to the Rangers. They had an outstanding season. With the talent on that club, they will be back to the big show I believe.

I wonder how many more San Fransickos will contract HIV while celebrating. Those people spend about as much time watching the Giants as you do watching Project Runway.

I’ll take the Giants winning as long as the liberals don’t win today.

Neither the Rangers nor the Giants were expected to make the post-season, let alone make it to the WS. It’s nice to have two teams that have not been in the WS for a change. While I’m a Giants fan, I would not have been unhappy with a Ranger win. Both teams deserve to be champions IMHO.

Okay, I didn’t mean to hurt your widdo feewings. It doesn’t matter who won, it only matters that everyone had a good time and that they still respect each other. I have an idea! Let’s just stop keeping score! Keeping score only leads to hurt feewings, and we certainly don’t want that!
Sheesh dude. I have to listen to crap from Texans all the time, most of it quite classless.

Yes, indeed. I was never more happy to see the Skankees go down to defeat than in that series with the Rangers.

Question: exactly how much are Lincecum/Wilson/Baumgardner/Cain going to cost by, say, this time next year? Is there any specific reason you left out Posey??

. . . the whole country should be kissing our Texas feet for keeping the Yankees out of the World Series. Well, I don't know about the feet kissing thing, but a big THANK YOU to the Rangers for beating the Skankees!!

No "feewings" hurt here and not keeping score. I certainly did have a great time watching my Rangers in their first ever WS. Good times! And as I mentioned ... Rangers fans can now actually look forward to spring training.

Good! Now, they need to concentrate on keeping Cliff Lee, even though he’s enamored with the stupid Yankees. Then, they need to pick up some decent arms for the bullpen. Oh, and ditch that idiot manager (ha ha, yeah I know it won’t happen). Then you’ll have a World Series victory party in Texas.
