Carville predicts a punchout (GOP Takes House, Senate. Obama out in 2012)

Mr. Carville, the celebrity strategist behind Bill Clintons presidential campaigns, was warning a hurricane would descend on Washington on Nov. 1. The only question: Whether it was a minor or a major one.
In Calgary on Friday, for the Teatro Speakers Series, Mr. Carville was more definitive. It would be disastrous.
It was said of Mike Tyson, he hits you so hard, he changes the way you taste, Mr. Carville says. For Democrats, foods going to taste very different Wednesday morning. .........
Mr. Carville concedes that he is more pessimistic than most Democrats about Tuesdays mid-term Congressional elections.
He thinks the Senate may go Republican, not just the House, since theyve always, historically, flipped together. Oh, and hes not sure Mr. Obama will run in 2012; he doesnt seem to like the job.
I hope Im wrong, he says of his outlook. Yet he doesnt seem especially troubled. After all, he believes, its not his partys fault, but larger forces conspiring against them.

I'm not trying to depress turnout because I'd vote over broken glass, but our government and the power that goes with it is a colossal tar baby. I'll take no joy in squashing the Deomonrats as we did in '94 because the baby needs burning and I fear the GOP won't do it. Noooooooo they won't burn the precious.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
I'm actually looking forward to April 15th so that I can tell Washington how much I still hate them.

I remember Pat Buchanan laughing when he heard the canard that Obama doesn’t like being president.
Pat said the limos, Marine One, Airforce One, people catering to you left and right becomes irresistable.
I agree and scoff that Obama doesn’t like being king.

Carville is a loyal Clintonista. These comments just cement for me the notion that Hillary is planning a coup for 2012.

i’m thinking carville - remember how furious he was over obummer’s handling - or NON-handling - of the Gulf spill? Also, with his wife, he has to hear some sanity in his own house, like it or not.

Harry Reid is going to taste like Evander Holyfield's ear. And hopefully gets spit out much the same way.

I think Marys conservatism is starting to rub off on him. I think they've both rubbed off on each other (now that I've typed that came out weirder than intended...but anyway...) in that they're both sorta libertarianish.

How does a guy go from Messiah to moron in two years? He didn't "go" anywhere. People who looked at the facts dispassionately knew exactly what he was and what would happen if he were elected and thus it came to pass. It's like the teenage girl or young adult woman who "suddenly" realizes that her family and friends were right and that her boyfriend is a creep.
