Greek police claim to have intercepted a booby-trapped parcel addressed to French President Nicholas Sarkozy. The France-bound device was found in the hands of two far-left Greek militants after another parcel detonated at a courier company in Athens.
"The incident seems rather ridiculous and in Sarkozy's case it's quite evident that this parcel would never have reached its destination," said police spokesman Thanassis Kokalakis.
Police found several other explosive packages addressed to the embassies of Belgium, the Netherlands and Mexico in Athens
A female employee at the courier company was left with burns to her hand when the parcel intended for the Mexican embassy caught light.
The others were detonated by police.
The two Greek suspects, aged 22 and 24, were both carrying handguns when they were found and one was wearing a wig and baseball cap and a bulletproof vest, police said.

Greece has a plague of Communists and Anarchists as well. They were behind the recent austerity riots. Many of them are bomb throwers, or in this case, bomb mailers.
You might be on to something - LOL
Old saying: Beware of Greeks sending gifts!
Damn - that must be the reason for that saying - they have never changed.
I'm sure the baseball cap did not have the logo of a baseball team on it....but I digress...
