If you want to control who gets the job, then you had better own the business. You have no right to judge what anyone else does with their property.

Look if he is going to blab like that on a forum, he is going to get flack. He should SFTU. Real people are hurting and to hear this is outrageous. I don't want to hear the musings of wife beaters either. The crapholes that would rather hire an illegal alien than just about anyone else are over this place. Tell me I'm wrong.

Oh, alright. You're right, if we're all veewwy veeewwwy quiet and pwetend, overqualified people will have jobs galore.

Real people are hurting and to hear this is outrageous.

Might as well be outraged at the weather. It just is. What are you doing about it other than flinging spittle in futility?

I don't want to hear the musings of wife beaters either.

That's ironic, since you've sounded like nothing so much as one on this thread.

The crapholes that would rather hire an illegal alien than just about anyone else are over this place.

There have been quite a few in the past. Not so many anymore. I don't hire illegal aliens. Do you?

Tell me I'm wrong.

You're wrong.

(RC from post 80)Grossly overqualified employees have a well-earned reputation as trouble waiting to happen. After the initial gratitude wears off, they tend to become bored easily, are hypercritical of areas completely outside their current station and do not fit in with their peers, above and beyond the virtual certainty that they’ll bail at the first opportunity to return to their former careers and rate of compensation.

(RC from post 80)It’s awful for people unemployed and trapped there in this economy, but it’s a truism that has long been demonstrated in the workforce.

CV->Real people are hurting and to hear this is outrageous. .... The crapholes that would rather hire an illegal alien than just about anyone else are over this place. Tell me I'm wrong.

I included RC's original post that you seem to have so much trouble with just to keep the discussion on track. What did he say that was false? Everything he said is how it really is out there. Is it offensive? Probably, Is it unfair? Definitely. But the only way we can change it is to buy the business and hire who we want to hire.

Whether you admit it or not, Human resources types do look at people as being overqualified. It happens all the time and we cannot change that.

People are hurting, real people with real degrees and real experience are finding that they can't get a job because there are no jobs in their field and they are overqualified for everything else. It truly sucks. MY dad was out of work for several years a while back when his company (that he worked for) closed his location. Took him a long time to get a new job. He had the double whammy against him. He was over 50 and overqualified. Nothing we can do but get through it.
