Airing right now...said the real unemployment is at 17.5%...showing tons of people with masters, bachelors, phd's, you name it...unemployed for 2 years...can't even get jobs at Target.
Agreed. There’s soooo much disinformation being tossed out like confetti over OUR parade by the Leftists hangin’ out the high-rise windows.
So much so that I cannot keep my ACME CATALOGUE BS DETECTOR quiet for a single minute.
“401k confiscation is coming.”
The Democratic Party is going to be destroyed in 9 days long before they can try this madness.
Then they are going to be on the streets...because it isn’t going to turn around - and “hiring managers” will be next. The bottom line is, we aren’t just “in a cycle.” On 11/4/08 all things changed...nothing will be the same again.
The stats don’t look quite so impressive for educated unemployment if we look at the private sector vs. government.
There has been a radical increase in government hiring, and nearly all government jobs require at least a BA.
For examples, look at this stat:
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t14.htm
You’ll notice that the “government workers” (near the bottom of the table) are at a nice, low 5.0% - basically full employment.
Now look at “Professional and Business Services” are at 9.9%.
Rather a different picture out there, once we talk about people who don’t have their snouts and front two feet in Uncle Sammy’s feed bunk.
The manufacturing sector has been decimated by unions who think it is okay to make $30 an hour. Nobody wants to pay for products with that cost structure, so outsourcing began. Remember when companies used to move factories to other parts of the US instead of overseas?
Reality is this, most manufacturing jobs should pay between $8 to $12, and skilled jobs $15 to $20 (maintenance and quality). Once we got beyond this pay scale, it was like pulling the pin on a grenade, you knew what was going to happen.
And she's still VERY attractive too (as long as she keeps her politics to herself):
I could not believe Obamao the other day. Praising Patty Murray for keeping Boeing jobs in Seattle.
Evidently they are counting on their voters being too stoned to notice they are out of work.
Well we must plan to kill him (them) back
If the Democrats get the drubbing that's expected on Nov. 2, you can bet there will be a lot of secret meetings with party bigwigs and the Clintons. A strategy will have to be developed which gets Obama out of the way for 2012 but doesn't alienate minorities, who still view Obama as the Messiah.
They can't allow Obama to run in 2012. He will lose badly and take the rest of the party down with him.
The DBM gets it. Their "golden boy" has been a failure of epic proportions. They will fully cooperate with the Clintons to destroy Obama. The NYT will be the chief purveyor of the dirt. Watch for NYT investigative reports highly critical of Obama starting shortly after Nov. 2.
“The MSM is laying the groundwork to bring back the poor victim stories once the Republicans get in. You have to be a complete cynic to understand them. They never do anything without a reason.”
Nov. 3rd Obama will invite the GOP to join him, in saving the country.
When they don’t, Obama and the media will blame continuing problems on the GOP.
That would only be replaced by Obama and the media taking credit, should either the GOP or normal business cycle bring improvements.
Theres a reason they are exposing this and I dont think its because they believe Bam has failed. Whatever the reason is, its NOT because they want to change the country back or help conservatives or help the Tea party.

Maybe the in-the-know Dems are aiming to take Obama out in the primaries.
Thank God I don’t have a mortgage. If enough people who have one, lose their employment, this country will go down the tubes real fast. Banks will start failing suddenly. Doesn’t take many bank failures for insanity to break out.
Mort Zuckermann started on Cavuto’s show eon’s ago, he was the 1st. But even all the Kings Horse and all the Kings Men won’t make Hillary President again, she is unsale-able...
Then I’ll just have to be surprised!
I live in a small town in rural Michigan about 1.5 hours north of Detroit. The economic situation here is apocalyptic. I mean literally: The town is unemployed. The grocery store is closed. The hardware has closed. The factories are either closed or obviously in big, big trouble unless things change soon.
I think this 60 minutes represents the real concern for the future that even the most hardened partisans hacks on the 'rat side must feel. The great depression drove America hard to the left. They had hopes this diaster would do the same. Quite the oposite seems to be true.
If I was at the DNC I would consider it absolutely essential - a matter of life and death - that substantial improvement be made in the economy before 2012 that Obama can try to steal the credit for.
The guy's already in office now my friend so what does it matter who voted for him?
Your original statement seemed to indicate that because a guy had a PHD or Masters then he of course voted for Obama..............If not then maybe you should clarify your statement. Thank you
I work in Big Pharma. If you had your way, you wouldn't be taking a single pharmaceutical product made in the US.
Manufacturing drugs isn't like manufacturing furniture or automobiles.
Thank you for the heads up on this.
It doesn’t come on in my area until 7pm,
I never watch 60 minutes or anything on CBS. Heck, it’s been so long since I’ve watched 60 minutes, I think I was young then. ;>)
That seems incredibly short-sighted. Even if you're right and they leave when the economy picks up, when exactly do you think that's going to happen? It could be another four or five years into the future... or it may not happen at all.
Completely agree. I've taken plenty of contracts and jobs that were below my usual rate not because I had no other options but because it was interesting work or I really liked the team/people.
Most folks will look at a job first as income, but also consider the work being done, the people around them, etc. Job satisfaction has a lot going for it, too, and many companies know it - they know they can pay less than normal wages and their employees will stay because of the work environment and the way the company functions as a whole.
I always say hire the best person you can for any job, and then don't give them a reason to leave!
