The Talk Shows
Sunday, October 24th, 2010
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Pat Toomey, Republican nominee for Senate in Pennsylvania; Joe Manchin, Democratic nominee for Senate in West Virginia.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md.; former Bush adviser Karl Rove.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine; retired Gen. Hugh Shelton, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Florida Senate debate with Republican nominee Marco Rubio, Democratic nominee Kendrick Meek and independent Charlie Crist.
If you want to get a glimpse of what we have been watching here in Fla. for some time now all there Senatorial candidates Meek, Crist and Marco the Great are on CNN.
Crist is a perfect example of why you should never try and bell all things to all people, you windup being nothing for no one.
Meek is perfect example of why you should never be A Democrat.
Marco is what you get if you morph Ronald Reagan ahead to now.The best of the best.
Totally agree!!
Go Ducks (unless they’re playing the Huskies ;-) !
We appreciate your hard work for COD she is lucky to have you. I still stand by my Yogi theory.
People of the United States! Are you tired of the snobs who mock your clothing, your food, and your entertainment choices? Are you tired of those who dismiss you because you didn't attend an "approved" university?
Have you had enough of people sneering at your vacation spots, your restaurants, and your chosen profession?
Women! Are you tired of being patted on the head and told to go get some coffee for the male political consultants? Are you tired of reporters asking you about abortion and ignoring your feelings on economics or national defense?
Americans! Why are we letting a group of snobby reporters and politicians take our tax dollars and then insult us?
Vote Republican! At least our guys know how to say "Thanks, and God Bless America!"
Good point.
Hey Mara, what's your position on Juan's dimissal??
::crickets::
Buck has proven to be a terrible candidate in the home stretch. His repeated mistake on MTP was not a peripheral issue; he totally botched his most important talking point. Twice.
Buck has been suckered off message repeatedly because he ventures into areas that are a political landmine.
Any GOP challenger that can get caught off-message in this economic environment is proving to be stupid, unprepared, and naive.
I'm watching it as well. All four rats just sat there with mouths open as Marco explained to them that "govt.s don't create jobs, business do" it seemed like a new concept to all.
FOX should insist that Mara quit NPR out of professional respect to Juan. Juan was NPR’s only black analyst. Seems to me that NPR should be publicly condemned as a racist organization; and Juan should sue for slander and defamation.
West is up by 3 pts in the latest poll (finally pulling ahead - woo hoo!!).
I read that Klein is now claiming that West was part of a motocycle club (bad one) and West hit back (good on him!!)
It's disturbing but maybe that's what he intends it to be.
Okay, good. Rush said that Toomey is ten points ahead.
I felt like blood was going to shoot from my eyeballs this morning watching Bob Shieffer on FTN and Christian A. on some other channel. Usually, I miss these horrible programs by being at church. It’s raining this morning so I decided to stay home in front of the fire and tune in.
Do these MSM Lib. moderators think we don’t notice that they are practicing biased journalism with their loaded questions, shrugs, eyerolls and looks of disdain in response to the likes of George Will, Ed Gillespie and Karl Rove?
Tim Kaine sounds like a robo call. And Anita Dunn? OMG. Does she have some neurological disorder? Her eyes blink incessantly and she does something wierd with her mouth and lips when speaking.
I was hoping either Ed or George would just take a bucket and put it over her head whilst she was regurgitating leftie hate speech, including anti Bush rants.
These morning shows are painful and I won’t do it again. I turned off Harold Ford Jr.: couldn’t take it anymore.
Rove, whom I have been mad at since his dissection of COD, was magnificent. He leveled Shieffer and was ready with quick and intelligent responses to all the garbage that Bobbie tried to lob his way.
Not one voter in 20 understands that we are all facing major tax increases on January 1 because the RATS refused to take action to stop the tax increases before adjournment.
The GOP had better turn up the heat on this issue. This could be the defining, strong-finish ad in the final 96 hours from coast-to-coast.
In the 1946 midterms, all the GOP had to do was run on a “Had Enough?” platform and they won both houses of congress after 20+ years of Democratic rule.
I’ll settle for either; both would be nice. This is not rocket science.
Thanks SJ. Again, I don’t mean to sound negative, not at all. But like I said, and you reiterated, they succeeded at what they do best. They had some comedian, with the video snippet shown on all the pundit shows, with the guy telling COD to read “the constitution for dummies”, that they don’t teach the constitution in the Harry Potter school, a big horse laugh hee-hah and folks, this kind of stuff resonates.
And did Rove or any of the GOP folks defend COD on how right she was? This morning Wallace threw Steele a bone and asked about COD. At which point, just suggesting it here, Steele could have said, throwing it out there guys, that COD WAS RIGHT ABOUT SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE NOT BEING IN THE CONSTITUTION!
Instead Steele mumbles about how all candidates make mistakes, make misstatements. Steele himself, the head of COD’s party, didn’t help her when Wallace served him up a softball to do so.
Lookit, y’all can’t change truth by just saying it over and over no more than the Dems can. COD got hornswoggled by that comment in the debate and as soon as she said it I cringed.
And she herself said that witch ad was a mistake. I tried with all my might to assure myself, told myself she was just being a big tongue-in-cheeky, which is probably true.
COD and her campaign evidently had no idea how mean and nasty liberals are. They have no sense of humor and such as satire and humorous self-deprecation zoom right over their mean heads.
But like I said, as I “man up”...I think there’s something very mysterious about the COD/Coons race and if I had to guess I’d say that everyone involved is very concerned about the turnout. Here’s the stats....3/4’s of the voters in Delaware lean Democrat. Kent county and Sussex county share the 25% that leans conservative though Sussex has grown greatly in recent years. Still you’re up against a very, very liberal group of folks who will vote how they’re told for a pack of smokes.
That being said, you got to get them out to vote cause they ain’t the sort to wake bright and chipper on election morn with a zeal for the ballot box. I’m quite sure that Biden and Obamer met with the unions, and they are mighty here in Delaware, and told them in no uncertain terms to get out and get those people to the polls.
THAT’s why I don’t think any pollsters are ready to pronounce the stats on this race just yet, because so very much, more so than in most other states I suspect, how this turns out depends so much on which voters go and vote.
With Castle, those Wilmington folks didn’t vote much either but the Dems didn’t care. They were happy to let Kent and Sussex county carry Castle cause he was...well he was a Dem in spirit. The Kent and Sussex people had been so brow-beat over the years that this is the only guy who can win that they elected him more than the Dems in Wilmington, that’s how that dynamic went.
THIS year there’s no telling where this will go.
For the record, I do NOT think COD’s comment in the Coons debate about sep of church and state will much affect this race accept maybe turn the tide with the mockery the libs have had with it for a few Independents who didn’t know how they were going to vote.
And for them to lay a loss of Toomy on COD is...well guys that’s a rumor gotta be being fostered by somebody in the Blue Blood GOP cause why would the Dems go searching for a reason why either COD or Toomey lost? That’s something the political parties of the losers tend to analyze for obvious reasons.
“Kaine is truly the all time rat liar of his time............”
How can you tell if Kaine is lying?
His eyebrow moves.
Note to Timmy: Most people have 2 eyebrows. Have you heard of tweezers??
Gregory failed to get the candidates to address real issues because Bennet has a record of supporting 0 and every Dem bill.
Buck will win. Bennet has never polled even close to 50% that I know of. This will probably be another of those “surprises” the media never saw coming.
I think the strategy was to not let the democrats promise to lower taxes after the election (which we know they would not do because they are liars).
NOW, in this final week and a half, they can start hitting on it, along with pointing out how the democrats wouldn’t stay and do it before they adjourned.
And hopefully there will be ads showing how much the withholding will change.
Good one MM!! Right on target.
Rove is in serious CYA mode...that's all he is doing. As for the media? EVERYTHING that they spew is designed to undermine America...they are socialists/marxists/communists, and I regard them with the same contempt that my grandparents did with the Germans and Japanese during World war II. Media = enemy.
That’s great SC!!
Klein has to be coached by Kaine. Say anything do anything to win. If these guys had to run on what their party leaders do they would always lose.
