ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Security detail for Alaska Senate candidate Joe Miller handcuffed a journalist at a Miller town hall Sunday.
Tony Hopfinger, editor of the online Alaska Dispatch, tells KTUU TV that Miller security guards pushed him as he tried to question Miller. He says he pushed back and that guards then detained him, accusing him of trespassing at the public event.
Miller security guard William Fulton says Hopfinger was detained and escorted away after ignoring pleas to stop putting a camera in Miller's face and proceeding to "stalk" the Republican.
Miller has accused the Dispatch of focusing on negative stories about him. The Dispatch reported the conservative accepted farm subsidies in the '90s and is among the media outlets suing for access to his personnel record from his time as a government attorney.
The Dispatch is a pro-Murkowski online paper. They’ve been relentless at trying to run his name through the mud.
the crank is a Dem party troll and no reporter.
the same vile creature was peddling the Palin divorce story scam
Journalist or journolister?
At this point my cynicism regarding Journalists is such that the occasional handcuffing isn’t pushing my sympathy button.
Oh, the horror!
Putin just has pain the ass reporters shot, tends to keep them in line.
“Alaska Dispatch, an online newsmagazine, was founded by Alaska journalists (and husband and wife) Tony Hopfinger and Amanda Coyne in their spare bedroom in 2008. In mid-2009, Alice Rogoff, a longtime supporter of journalism and former chief financial officer of U.S. News and World Report, became the majority owner of Alaska Dispatch. She is committed to funding the website until it becomes profitable.”

So, a leftist in Washington is subsidizes these human barnacles to write anti-Palin dispatches, seven this week. There is no Murkowski Watch, too.
If they did not take him out back and beat the crap out of him... they did not do enough.
LLS
the security guard should have have just kicked the slim ball in the groin. When does a journalist cross the line and becomes paparazzi? This particular paparazzi, opps I mean journalist has a beef with Miller, and he is nothing but a DC insider sent to cause trouble. Kicking him in the groin would have given him a definite message.
the election season is getting ugly.
Ah the press. People that think they are above God...
Actually lower then politicians and laywers......
And you can not get much lower then that!
Go to the KSRM radio (Kenai Alaska) website and freep the poll for Joe Miller.
There is such an easy retort to these accusations. The government takes our money through excessive taxes and demands that we jump through these silly hoops to get it back. As a conservative, my position is that the gov't should stop taking excessive taxes and stop making us beg for our money back.
Well, once he was told to leave, it seems the ‘reporter’ became a trespasser.....

Not just a good idea, it is the law in Alaska.
OK...
This leftist blogger looks like a soft mama's boy to me. He should have been put in a straight jacket instead.
Commie blogger assaults a security guard and gets detained. I’d love to see the assaulted guard press charges against his assailant.
