The Pentagon is braced for its biggest-ever security breach of classified information as Wikileaks, the website that publishes leaked official documents, prepares to release 400,000 intelligence files related to the Iraq war.

A task force of 120 people has been assembled to assess the potential implications and damage of the disclosure of the documents, which promises to eclipse the recent release of more than 70,000 classified US military files on the Afghanistan war.

There was a time when the maggots at wikileaks would not have dared to try this crap. We’re a nation of pink sneaker wearing girlymen now.

...anyone still think we’re going to beat al Queda fighting them like this?

There was a time when traitors were hung.

Now they’re media heroes.

How times have changed. :(

I always found it interesting how hard Nixon fought (and seeked revenge) on the release of the Pentagon Papers. Memos that had been prepared during the Johnson Administration. I am sure Nixon could have used them for political gain, but instead saw the security of our Nation as foremost.

Ahhhhhh, true. But now things are different. This is all new policy under the grand jihadist’s mandate of muslim outreach and ally destruction.

Gotta remember, “this aint America no more” and we are now the largest muslim nation.

You and I know that there was a time, not so long ago, when the folks leaking this stuff to Wikileaks would never get so far as to hand over the documents.

Agreed, although with digital files, whatever he’s got has been copied 100 times over, so even if he had an ‘accident’ it would still be released. That said, if I were him, I wouldn’t sleep that well...ever again.

So what was the big achievement with the theft of 70,000 classified US military files on the Afghanistan war?

What was the big deal other than helping the enemy hunt down people who love their country?

And now, after that they are going to do it again.

400,000 intelligence files related to the Iraq war

399,999 were Ace of Spades death cards. The last was a CO memo "hey, guys knock it off"

Even with digital files, there was a time when the leaker would have been taken care of before he ore she could upload one byte. This leak of 400,000 documents is not small leak.

“There was a time when crap like this would be tolerated one bit”

Now our leaders are “nuanced” to be intolerant. Instead of reacting with anger, they feel “angst”, even when those who blab to reporters are our own are highly placed U.S. government officials.

See the accompanying article “Obama ‘angst’ ridden over intelligence leaks”

>> There was a time when crap like this would be tolerated one bit.

Well, you’re assuming the files were not made available to be ‘leaked’.

Oh cool. Is this the one where we really DID have evidence of WMD, and we really DID observe the Russians removing WMDs from Iraq, taking them to Syria, then covering up to make W look bad, and making Powell look like a fool? You mean THAT story?
