I don't know about the rest of you but I now live in New York. There are a lot of liberals running around and all of them that I tell about the massive tax hike in January aren't too happy. Also explained in the article is 1099 hell for every business in America that was hidden in Obama Care. Yet another surprise where we all even a sole proprietorship have to fill out a new 1099 for every $600 transaction. Utterly impossible! Well not impossible just incredibly time consuming where even a small business has to now hire an accountant as of January. All data on the 1099 has to be confirmed so we have to now get social security numbers as well as tax ids from everyone. Anyone else here have an idea at how fast this explodes on America? I think the depression is in all of our faces in 2011 and no longer will they be able to hide anything.

You forget to mention the W9’s that need to be kept on file for each and every one of those 1099’s.
Even if that is IF they ‘compromise’ and only tax the ‘rich’, which is the kubuki dance I see coming, no one can avoid the inflation courtesy of Big Ben, the cruelest tax of all! Watch commodities skyrocket!

The PPT will stop buying in to the market when they see the writing on the wall and the stocks will plunge. Cash or metal or the mattress is the way to go long now.

This is all by design. The destruction of capitalism and greedy entrepreneurs will not go unabated.

The poor don’t care about 1099’s. If the Child Tax Credit (aka handout to the poor) really drops from $1000 to $500, that is when they will hear from the angry poor.

My dad who is a retired PHD didn’t want to believe that tax rates for all wage earners are going up in January when we discussed it a few days ago. If a smart guy like him is having trouble with this, imagine how most people will react. Thing is, Republicans should be sure they know before Novemeber 2nd.

Think about it.
Evil President Bush cuts their Income Taxes by 33%.
Ten years later, their Messiah Obama raises their Income Taxes by 50%.
It it wasn't so sad, it would be hilarious.

While accurate, the big problem with this is that it will occur after the Republicans (likely) take control of the House. The Dims, and their sycophants in the media, will spin it as it was the R's that raised the taxes on the "little people".
The typical Dim voter won't know that it was the expiration of the Bush tax cuts, which those legislators in their own party allowed to happen.

Good. Vote for it, feel the pain just like everyone else.

Yeah I'm handing out my SS number like candy. I think a lot of 1099's are going to come up "no match" or to random valid SS numbers.
