Obama: Dems are in trouble because Americans aren't thinking clearly

At a Saturday-evening fundraiser held in the home of a wealthy Massachusetts hospital executive, President Obama suggested Democrats are having difficulties in midterm campaigning because Americans simply aren't thinking clearly. Seeking to explain his party's troubles, the president focused not on controversial legislation like national health care and the stimulus but on evolutionary psychology. "Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now, and facts and science and argument do not seem to be winning the day all the time, is because we're hard-wired not to always think clearly when we're scared," Obama told the assembled Democrats, who paid $15,200 a person to attend. "And the country is scared."

To "break through the fear and the frustration that people are feeling right now," Obama told the crowd, will require high-end donors not just to "write checks" but also to "lift up people's spirits and make sure that they're not reacting just to fear."

In a now-infamous April 2008 speech to a similarly posh fundraiser in San Francisco, Obama discussed Pennsylvanians who had seen their standard of living decline in recent years by saying: "It's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." In the ensuing controversy over his remarks, Obama did not apologize or back down from his position but conceded he had made "poor word choices."

First Lady Michelle Obama has also occasionally diagnosed the American public. According to an account in the New Yorker, she said at a March 2008 rally in South Carolina that Americans are "guided by fear" and that the United States as a country is "just downright mean."

I can’t wait to hear what Rush has to say after the election. I bet he will be humbled and shocked at how well thing went.

That's the ticket, have George Soros come out from the shadows, get on the campaign trail with his puppet in chief and lift our spirits. Yeah Barry, that'll work.

Is it just me or is Hussain looking more and more like a caricature every time he opens his pie hole?

I think he is saying that DEMS are not AMERICANS and therefore dependent on how clearly AMERICANS think.

D is for dumbed down decisions.

Democrats: Americans are fuzzy, opaque (dumb) thinkers.

Obama is in trouble because he doesn’t think at all. He is a puppet.

“because Americans simply aren’t thinking clearly.”

Now Biteme says the obummer legislative agenda is too difficult to explain to voters, and now obummer himself, mr. teleprompter, tells us we’re not thinking clearly.

Oh, that STINKS of desperation. Never good to insult voters with 16 days to 11/2 and 40% of voters voting early.

I’m not sure what the Wash Examiner is, but perhaps this outrageous quote from the Chief Communist will gain traction in the MSM.

It is lifted almost directly from the past sayings of Comrades Kadar, Honecker, Gomulka, and probably all other People’s Heroes, and that is not because it appears in some Communist handbook, but because that is how Communists think independently of one another even, backed up in their minds by the science of marxism. If their policies don’t work, that is not because the “science” is wrong, science is never wrong, but because the populace is stubborn and cannot think clearly. If nothing else does, this very quote identifies Osambo as a Communist doctrinaire.

Would someone please explain to the little kenyan that the US military teaches warriors how to think clearly when "scared", a point apparently lost on the affirmative action nancy pretending to be a US president.

Earth to President Obama: Americans ARE thinking clearly because they know all too well your economy-sapping policies (expensive bailouts, expensive health care reform, and fear of what happens when the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts expire). Small wonder why the Democratic Party will lose the House and could possibly even lose the Senate this coming election.

“Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now, and facts and science and argument do not seem to be winning the day all the time, is because we’re hard-wired not to always think clearly when we’re scared,””

Oh, I see....so the brilliance and anaytical insight of “hope and change” and “yes we can” is no longer winning because we’re scared. How did such a lightweight and obvious fool ever make it to this point? Like the Czech newspaper said, what’s scary is not that this prince of fools is in power but rather there were enough fools to elect him.

Well, Obama does scare me at some level. But, only if America continues down his path.

Obama: Dems are in trouble because Americans aren't thinking clearly

It's precisely the opposite. If the American people thought any clearer in '08, 0h0m0 and his communist thugs wouldn't have made.

0b0z0 beware, the American people will act clearer if the thugs fool around with the election process.

Hey York, you’re just 180 degrees off. We know exactly what lies they are telling and where they want to take this country and we are say, “Hell No!”
