Salt Lake Tribune ^ | 10/16/10 | Mark Sherman

Posted on 10/16/2010 8:48:12 PM PDT by Nachum

When Supreme Court justices enter the House of Representatives in their black robes for the president’s next State of the Union address, Samuel Alito does not plan to be among them. The justice said the annual speech to Congress has become very political and awkward for the justices, who he says are expected to sit “like the proverbial potted plant.”

Good for him!!

Watch the self-righteous Libs act shocked by this!

I’m telling you, Libs are not used to getting their B.S. shoved right back in their faces!

If I was Alito, I wouldn’t go either. He shouldn’t have to put up with that kind of crap from a Marxist.

Good for him. I’ll be joining him in ignoring the spectacle. All I need to see or hear will be posted here afterward anyway.

The whole Court boycotted Clinton's last SOTU address. Hopefully the other sitting justices will again show some spine given Alito's stand.

The entire GOP should pull a no show. Why sit through BHO’s lies and attacks on them?

Did anyone read the comments on that article? What kind of perverts are living in Salt Lake that would make comments like that?

But Stevens said that “reliance on history, even when the interpretation of past events is completely accurate and undisputed, provides an insufficient guide to the meaning of our Constitution.”

I see the constitution as a written contract between we the people (not the government). It is specific and it is sufficient guide to what has been agreed to. There is a process for amending the contract if we the people choose to do so. The courts are tasked with enforcing the contract, not modifying or fixing it. period.

He was worth the fight we had to wage to have him nominated. One of conservative’s finer battle victories.

Any time Obama's face shows up on TV or his voice is on the radio I tune out.

It was beyond belief that the Libs took offense to this brief rebuttle by Alito, but had NO problem when the Kenyan leveled his ghetto attack on the SCOTUS!

Screw you Kenyan!

The SCOTUS is a co-equal branch of government, whether you like it or not!

There is no other way to see it. Creeps like Obama and Carter operate outside The Constitution and should be ignored accordingly.

As I mentioned in another post: the Kenyan needs to understand that the SCOTUS is a co-equal branch of the federal government.

Can’t wait to be absent for the speech myself, and in solidarity with Astuto, and also for the viewership to hit an all time LOW over all. wouldn’t that be GREAT?!
