Fresh Senate Polls in W.V., Nev., Wisc., Wash., Conn., Del. (O'Donnell crushed)
Weekly Standard ^ | Oct 12, 2010 | JOHN MCCORMACK

Posted on 10/12/2010 10:48:00 PM PDT by tlb

Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm, shows West Virginia governor and Democratic Senate candidate Joe Manchin leading Republican John Raese by 3 points (48% to 45%), just a couple weeks after trailing Raese by a few points. It will be interesting to see if other pollsters pick up the same movement. Last week, Rasmussen showed Raese leading Manchin 50% to 44%.

Nevada race remains tight. PPP shows Harry Reid leading Sharron Angle by 2 points in Nevada (47% to 45%). But Fox News finds Angle with 2 point lead (49% to 47%).

From Fox's other polls out today (GOP candidates listed first):

Linda McMahon is trailing Dick Blumenthal by just 6 points in Connecticut (43% to 49%)--a slight improvement from the last Fox poll showing her down 10.

Washington.. Dino Rossi over Sen. Patty Murray (47% to 46%).

Delaware ...Christine O'Donnell trailing Chris Coons by 16 points (38% to 54%).

Finally, Rasmussen shows Republican Ron Johnson leading Democratic senator Russ Feingold 52% to 45% in the the Wisconsin Senate race--a little closer than it was two weeks ago (54% to 42%). But the poll is still bad news for Feingold.

Obama is campaigning in Delaware because it is safe.

Plus he thinks that highlighting her will make all Republicans look bad.

IMO, Rush is just being a good team player. He’s not going to bash our side when the election is still to come. He’s made it pretty clear he thought the I’m You ad was dumb. He hinted at it again yesterday while praising the independently made ad for COD. He’s going to stay focused on the enemy, and try to help our side win, no matter what his actual views on the matter are. It’s the way he is. It doesn’t hurt that it’s in his own best interests to be that way.

So you’re “concerned” still.

Seems like that’s pretty much all you do.

Actually. Is be “concerned”.

I’d like to know what she did with the first 2.5 million before I gave her any more money.

Rove is also very overrated. He almost blew the 2000 election over Gore and then again in 2004 with Kerry, a joke of a candidate. The GOP was annihilated in 2006 and 2008 thanks in large part to Rove’s strategies.

Here in NJ, 250K makes you pretty comfortable, but I’d call it upper middle income. I would say a good portion of my business comes from these folks. I’m in a lower bracket, but I do a LOT of regular business with people in this range, from NJ to PA to CT to NY. If they get squeezed, I get squeezed. I’m against higher taxes.

Yes, she is a weak candidate. But, Rove providing ammunition, exposure and talking points for the Marxists is treason.

She’s producing some (very) good ads.

The big debate is this evening. An hour of which will be run live on CNN. I think C-Span is showing the whole thing.

How about everyone around here, stop complaining.

Sheesh. Never saw a group more determined to lose.

That’s not a source which can be excerpted or posted on FR, but the article mentions 91 percent Democrat support for Coons, and only 67 percent for O’Donnell.

Has it not occurred to you at all that the reason so many Republicans in Delaware don't support her is that Delaware Republicans are largely mushy moderates that like candidates like Castle?

Have you also not realized yet that there are far more Democrats in Delaware, and for a Republican to win one must appeal to lots of those Democrats? You know Delaware is a deep blue state right?

It's almost as if people are just intentionally blinding themselves to political realities. The world is what it is, not what we wish it would be. For a strong conservative to have a shot to win in Delaware, they would need to be an exceptionally strong candidate. O'Donnell is just the opposite - she is an extremely weak candidate.

Let’s hope American patriots will never forgive Karl Rove for the defeat of Christine O’Donnell. She has not been able to regroup after he bashed her on Hannity’s show. Her advisers did a poor job with her defense of the “witch attack.”

The liberal media has us all concentrating on O’donnel while Republican Sharron Angle is in dead heat with Democrat Harry Reid.

Republican Sharron Angle is more for limiting government than any politician imo and she is pro-life and against illegals (check out her great ad against illegals).

O’donnel is a lost cause. We should concentrate on helping Sharron Angle.

If all of us who are giving to O’donnel including EL RushBo, instead give our support to Sharron Angle then we might defeat democrat Harry Reid.

I would be estatic to see this Marxist Villain Reid defeated.

Forget about O’donnel. I think Rush with one comment could push Angle over the top. instead Rush got many conservatives to donate millions to O’donnel and still is campaigning for O’donnel. Rush is making a huge mistake here and so are any who are supporting O’donnel who should support Angle and other conservatives in close races against democrats/marxists. El Rushbo looks like El dumbo with this support of O’donnel.

So you are helping her to win,

How, exactly?...

Call me naive, but complaining about our candidate doesn’t really seem like the optimal victory strategy, 3 weeks out from an important election.

Just saying.

Isn’t Raese self funding? I thought he was an extremely wealthy guy. As for Miller, I think he’s a great candidate and I hope by now he’s so for ahead of his two opponents he doesn’t need more money...I’d like to see some polling.

If Coons was photographed in bed with a dead girl or a live boy...it would be close.

I don't know about that. Historically it didn't affect either Ted Kennedy or Barney Frank.

There simply aren’t enough conservatives and Republicans in Delaware to make her competitive.

But...

I think some are forgetting the meaning of why O’Donnell was nominated in the first place. Was it not to send the message that RINOs are no longer welcome? That message, I believe, has been received.

Barring some horrific, last-minute revelation about Coons and a Heaven-sent miracle, Christine isn’t going to win on Nov. 2, and that was the situation most of us knew when she was nominated. Her greatest success lies in drawing the media’s attention away from other candidates. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that, since Christine won the nomination, Sharron Angle and Rand Paul have either pulled ahead and stabilized their leads and appear to have the upper hand in their respective campaigns.

Her candidacy has served a noble purpose as she has stepped up and taked a barrage of arrows previously aimed at others. I, for one, greatly appreciate Christine O’Donnell for that.

And I really think that ad "I'm not a witch" was really dumb. Who is advising her? I would have made an ad just ridiculing the liberal mainstream media for coming up with such a ridiculous attack not given validity to it by mentioning it directly. So this shows here and her advisors are idiots imo "I'm not a witch?" .LOL.
