The Family of Medal of Honor recipient Vernon Baker was denied access to the White House's West Wing on Saturday, a day after the World War II hero was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
Baker's widow, Heidy, and grandson, Vernon Pawlik, 10, were denied entry because the boy was wearing shorts and a T-shirt. His shirt had a picture of his grandfather on it.
A White House website doesn't list a dress code, but the family had been invited to tour the West Wing, which houses the president's office and where casual dress is prohibited.
U.S. Rep. Walt Minnick's office says he's contacted the White House to express his disappointment.
Vernon Baker, of St. Maries, Idaho, was the last living black World War II Medal of Honor winner.
The White House didn't return a phone call seeking comment.
But Obama putting his feet up on the desk in the oval office is perfectly okay. Especially when speaking to the Prime Minister of Israel.
About that protocol.........
Bet they would have gotten in if the tee shirt had a pic of the OBamanator on it..Hope’nChange image...
Or if he wore a red indian sari....
If he had warn a Che T Shirt or a Black Panther T Shirt or a change T Shirt, he would have been welcomed.
The White House has become the outhouse of shame for America. My tagline sums up what has happened since Obozo was sworn in.
Shorts and a t shirt simply aren't appropriate for the White House.
There is a staff of social/protocol employees at the White House who are tasked with making sure official visitors are gently informed of policy. Sometimes that requires hand holding. The staff didn't do their jobs here. It's extremely bad form to turn away someone you invited.
He was probably SPECIALLY DRESSED in this for his big day to see the White House and was pleased to honor his grandfather this way...
LET's GET A NAME OF THE PERSON WHO DENIED THIS LITTLE BOY ENTRANCE EVEN THO THE LITTLE FELLOW AND HIS GRAM HAD BEEN INVITED!!!!!!
I have had it with the destruction of our WH and everything it stands for...to me this is episode is more than sad....it is reflective of the tenor this horrific group of snobs has laid upon our entire nation.
TRANSPARENCY? My big fat ass.
THEY DESPISE THE MILITARY, AND ANYTHING OR ANYONE ATTACHED TO IT.
They probably laughed at them.................

What’s one more slap in the face, after the many already receive from the black POS in the White House, and may I add...remaining comments self censored.
Frankly I’m getting as tired of him as I would get of any adolescent behavior. The “boy” has jumped way above his ability. I wouldn’t vote for him to clean up elephant dung, along a parade route. It would be a disservice to the elephants. No pun intended.
The burial was the day before the WH visit.
Shorts and a tee shirt are not appropriate attire for a tour of the West Wing of the White Hose. I wouldn’t have let them in either. of course I also wouldn’t let barry and michele in either.
Our WH, imo, seems like a black mass of molding brick surrounded by Oz like flying monkeys and vultures of all sorts, bent on destroying everything of traditional value in our nation. It is like it is now the executive branch, fully corrupted vs the rest of America.
Vernon was "acting white" when he won that medal. /s
Clinton flashback?
I have had it with this false dress code crap.....most everyone would dress their best to go there and I bet this little fellow and his gram thought he looked just right...especially with his grandfather's face emblazed on his shirt.
But it is okay for the zero to (be photographed even) put his shoes up on the desk....
And had you scrolled down the thread before popping off...
I prefer the popping off first. It is an example of how the one popped off on was responsible to some degree. That includes the unaddressed casual dress on West Wing tours.
I’m not for cutting a President much slack. Especially one with no grace, humility, or kindness. Just my way or the highway. It works both ways, and hope is a highway in 2012.

POS, yes. Black, no.
The proper term would be "Mulatto POS".
