Paladino And Post Reporter Square Off
The New York Post ^ | 9/30/2010 | Jennifer Fermino

Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino and Post State Editor Fredric U. Dicker last night got into an angry confrontation -- during which Paladino threatened, "I'll take you out."

It started when Dicker asked Paladino if he had any proof of his shocking allegation that Democratic rival Andrew Cuomo cheated on his former wife during their marriage.

"What evidence do you have for something most people would consider a smear?" Dicker asked.

This Paladino guy is really starting to go off the rails. His whole John-Edwards-style secret life, his allowing Cuomo's people to get inside his head, etc.

Poor candidate selection is going to really hurt us.

He’s climbing in the polls...we’ll see how this plays out. I don’t live in New York but the seat doesn’t belong to Cuomo just because of his name and do you think he has been analized anywhere near what Paladino has...I doubt it!!!

He hasn’t struck me as a poor candidate, but his accusation about a Cuomo affair was unwise. I think that the tea-party backed candidates as a whole have kept the campaigns on the issues without sinking to dem levels and it has helped them. It seems to me that Paladino has enough on Cuomo’s professional life to sink him.

Actually, he’s a great candidate. Did you see that reporter on FOX this morning. Gives you the creeps! I hope he has the goods on Cuomo and I hope he brings it out in the open. Cuomo would be the worst thing to ever happend to New York.

Did you know a cameraman went up to his daughters window to get pictures of her? It scared her to death.

Any person on our side is getting this treatment.

You want someone to do the dirty work in NY of all places, and you expect a choirboy to step up to the plate? It’s NY politics, down and dirty as always...especially when the Dems feel threatened which doesn’t happen often.

“It seems to me that Paladino has enough on Cuomo’s professional life to sink him.”

Absolutely.

Keep your eye on the ball, Mr. Paladino.

Need to do some research; the newspaper guy sent a photographer to take photos of Carl’s ten year old. That should be out of bounds in all cases. I don’t care who the mother was and her relationship to Carl. What has the little girl done to deserve this treatment? Bottom line it’s just a father protecting his little daughter. My suggestion is for Carl to report the newspaper guy to the police for taking photos of little, under age girls.

Maybe so...he’s a head strong guy so it will be hard to control him. The voters will decide. I think he is legions better than Junior!!

Paladino is not a politician.. that is why he can win in a disfunctional state like NY.

Cuomo is the definition of career sleazy "POLITICIAN".

Paladino IS DETERMINED to shake up the systemic corruption in NY.

I have talked to Carl and he is like your next door neighbor running because he's had it up to his eyeballs with elitist politicians and he's going to do something about it.

What do you think NY should do .... ELECT another sewer dweller like Cuomo or settle for another RINO wimp wanna be swamp denizen like Lazio?

PALADINO is perfect for the times!

When he gets in... Watch out Sheldon "the snake" Silver.

If he comes out today and says he was defending his daughter’s privacy from the prying eyes of the press he’ll be ok. If not, he’ll look a bit unstable.

He’s climbing in the polls...we’ll see how this plays out.

He was climbing in the polls last week, before the public found out that he was running his own John Edwards style operation on the side.

Instead of sticking to the issues - which is what made him a contender - he's now repeating rumors about Cuomo's personal life and threatening reporters.

He has plenty of red meat to talk about on the issues, and when it comes to talking about personal lives he lives in a very fragile glass house.

He needs to get on message.

Paladino has a lot of emotional baggage - his son died suddenly last year and then he introduced his surviving family to his illegitimate daughter. This guy started out the year under a tremendous amount of personal strain - I hope his behavior over the past couple of days does not translate into a full-fledged meltdown.

Paladino, get it together.

His campaign should be ‘I am not a Democrat’. That is now a winner. Big Ads..Coomo is a Democrat!

Fred Dicker the newspaper guy Paladino confronted did not send the guy to photograph the daughter. He was asking him to prove the accusation against Cuomo. But the point is that they should not have made this a big deal against Paladino....he has supported the little girl all along...even taking her to Rome. The liberal press will go after a republican and give the the liberal dim a walk!

Did you know a cameraman went up to his daughters window to get pictures of her? It scared her to death.

No one here seemed too upset when cameramen were tracking down John Edwards illegitimate daughter.

We were, in general, applauding.

Crying over this is an utterly losing proposition.

We now know that Paladino is every bit the dirtbag as a human being as Cuomo is.

Time for the GOP to focus on which of these degenerates has the better policies - because this personal tit-for-tat is not going to help Paladino. Only his far superior plans for NY matter now.

I don’t have a problem with anything you said....I still like the guy if he’s running against the new York political machine.
