Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) brushed off attacks by fellow GOP Sen. Jim DeMint (S.C.) over her write-in bid to defeat the nominee and Tea Party favorite Joe Miller, saying that her fellow senator was making people "uncomfortable."
"Murkowski's betrayal provides more proof that big-tent hypocrites don't really care about winning a majority for Republicans," DeMint wrote in a scathing fundraising e-mail for Miller on Sunday, adding "principles have never been that important to Murkowski."
Murkowski said on CNN's "State of the Union" that it wasn't up to DeMint or the California-based Tea Party Express to decide if Alaska's senator was conservative enough.
"Jim can say what he's going to say," she said. "That's fine. I'm going to listen to what the people of Alaska want."
She said the slim percentage of victory for Miller and the Democratic nominee, Scott McAdams, showed that there's plenty of middle ground that she can capture in a write-in effort. She accused the Tea Party of coming into the state and dropping $600,000 on "mudslinging smears, terrible, terrible campaign... they absolutely, clearly influenced the outcome of that election."

Morecowsky is apparently addicted to porkulus based on her most recent interview (which was EXTREMELY painful to watch). She clearly needs to go.
Murki make me unconfortable. She sound like somebody who infiltrated the Republican party. A bad sport and a weak person for being unable to take a setback. Any indication of Soros money going her way?
The tea party came to the state and ran a ‘terrible terrible’ campaign...except for that one tiny fact...they won.
Murkowski to switch to the Democratic party in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
The U.S. Senate is one of the most exclusive, prestigious organizations in the world. There are a lot of perks and privileges that we will never know about. It hurts to be on the outside looking in. Moocowski wants in so badly she is willing to destroy Miller’s chances.

It's not that she's "infiltrated" the party, as much as she likes the personal advantages that accrue to senior federal politicians, and is unwilling to see those goodies slip away from her.
Lot's of people look kindly upon you when you control hundreds of billions of dollars in funding. A smart person can turn that to her advantage. I don't think she cares whether she is advancing the Republican or Democrat agenda, as long as what she does generates benefits to herself and her clique.

This is the cleanest example of main line Republican office holders willing to force a defeat on the Republican Party that one could make.
All the claims of allowing a “big tent” identity to the party are destroyed with this specific example of how when the voters have the tent sized to include a conservative newcomer, the career pols won’t accept of admit defeat and rejection by the voters.
This is Lisa insisting to the voters that she owns their “brand” and if she can’t have it she will sabotage the brand.
Hopefully he’ll have some others joining him next year to increase that discomfort among the establishment.
They want Joe Miller, not you.

Irony is lost on some people.
No mention of the Bridge to Nowhere, which actually was a bridge to her family’s property.
Hopefully I did this right, using OpenSecrets.org.
Lisa Murkowski raised a total of $3,536,231 over the last 6 years (2006, 2008, and 2010 cycles). Of which, $536,724 was donated by individuals from the state of Alaska.
That's 15.2%.
Also, it's almost exactly $3 million raised from out-of-state sources. And she complains about $600 thousand from TPX?
Somebody needed to.
“Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) brushed off attacks by fellow GOP Sen. Jim DeMint (S.C.) over her write-in bid to defeat the nominee and Tea Party favorite Joe Miller, saying that her fellow senator was making people “uncomfortable.””
Keep ‘em uncomfortable, Jim.
DeMint BTTT
I even entertained the idea that she might spend the next few years listening to the People of Alaska, and take the seat held by the ultimate usurper, Mark Begich, or as they say in Anchorage "Mark Baggage"
Now comes this mess. She has shown her utter contempt for the citizens of Alaska. If she hands this election to the Dems we will have no representation in Washington. Just two Obamabutt-boys.
Come on, Lisa, look at who is supporting this travesty, DEMOCRATS. They don't care about you, they just want to split the Repub vote to get this useless DEM elected and hold on to power in the Senate.
Show some class, pull out now, while you still have some supporters in Alaska.
You have hit the nail onthe head.
Lisa was more like a “Rent-a-Senator” than an Alaskan. ( see http://www.alaskajournal.com/stories/080610/fis_cdqg.shtml) You get s sense of who her supporters are...
I bet after her loss, she stays in DC and tries to be (I doubt she will be successful as a) a lobbyist.
Her Daddy has all but dropped out of sight. Nary a peep on the internet of his current activity... Kinda makes ya wonder.
You get invited to a lot of really fancy parties, and you get to dress up a lot.
Look MurCOWski you lost get over it.
