Karl Rove, political mastermind for former President Bush, said Sunday that Christine O'Donnell, the Tea Party insurgent who won an upset victory in Delaware for the GOP Senate nomination, "can't simply ignore" the controversy stirred over the disclosure that she "dabbled in witchcraft" and has to find a way to "explain it and put it in its most sympathetic light and move on." "In southern Delaware, where there are a lot of church-going people, they're probably going to want to know what was that all about," Rove said on Fox News Sunday. "And again, she said it on television when she went on the ... the Bill Maher show." Rove was referring to an October 1999 appearance O'Donnell made on Maher's "Politically Incorrect" show where she said," I dabbled into witchcraft -- I never joined a coven... One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn't know it." O'Donnell had been on Maher's show frequently in the 1990s, and Maher has said he is going to show an O'Donnell clip each week until she agrees to appear again.

For Gods, sake grow up ....Rove didnt say something any other political guru wouldn’t say ....and also seemed hopeful the woman will win the race
He certainly came across as reasonable ....unlike the people here with their pitchforks
Wow. Did you eat paint chips as a kid?
It’s a temporary financial discrepancy which will be resolved on Friday! However, I will send a note, too. I don’t have any local races that need me this year (congresswoman and senator in safe seats) so I might as well help someone out of state.
Boycott Fox News. Nuff said.
Rove is an official GOP fund raiser. In fact he raises tens of millions of dollars. So he wouldn’t be criticizing a Republican who won her primary unless: (1) the GOP Establishment approved it and (2) he is getting money from someone, probably Castle who he was working for.
So this seems to say that the GOP leadership hasn’t given up on Castle yet. (Which is why neither Castle nor the Delaware Republican Party has endorsed O’Donnell.) I think their plan is to wait for a full investigation of O’Donnell, and at the mean time trash her in the media. The hope is that the investigation digs up so much bad stuff that O’Donnell is pressured to withdraw, with Castle taking her place.
You need to explain why that needs to be explained to you, Karl.
Or maybe you need it explained why Harry Potter books are a big success with teenagers.
You may be right, it may turn out that way. However, IIRC, Christine won the primary handily and in his criticism, Rove is crapping on the DE voters, and stamping his feet just like Olympic Snowe.
Newt Gingrich isn’t any different except he’s woken up to the power and scope of the Tea Party. In that respect he’s being more politically astute than Rove who seems to be in an on-going temper tantrum since the DE outcome.
That makes no sense. The primary is over, and O’Donnell is the nominee. Attacks on her, by Republicans, cannot undo the primary results, only indicate that the attacker doesn’t accept the verdict of the voters.
I’ve got no problem with a person’s supporting one primary candidate over another; that’s why we have primaries. But after that, you support your party’s choice or you’re supporting the opposition.
I don’t know if O’Donnell can win, but I know for sure that Castle won’t be on the November ballot, so get over him.
Understand my post. If he thought his words would create a backlash would he have made them. If so he is still a magnificent bastard.
They do say the Quija board is the “opening” of talking to the dead and bad spirits.
I do NOT for a moment doubt your story. Evil is just that....evil.
Seems to me that girls, such as you and I have learned our lessons. Obviously so has Christine. I don’t think the “boys” will get it though. It was usually us girls who were curious about it.
Well put marron!
Rove knows all about dabbling ... he’s now unemployable.
Dear Woof,
What is at stake is the Republic.
Christine believes as I do. I care about her vote, nothing else.
F... Karl Rove in the a.. with a pitchfork!
Anything short of full support of conservative candidates is INEXCUSABLE.
Interesting. I’ve read that certain artifacts (African, Indian whatever) can have that effect if they were once cursed or used in cursing someone.
Bottom line, one can’t be too careful when dealing with the occult or objects thereof, some of which appear quite innocent and innocuous at first.
So you don't care if you are being screwed. It just depends on who does it. Am I correct in this assumption?

_______
You have ignored a critical fact. The Delaware GOP picked her in 2008 to run against Biden. The GOP would now have to say they did not vet O’Donnell at all.
“He challenged Sarah Palin to go to Delaware and get COD elected if she thought she could”
Does Rove still think he’s president? Maybe he was appointed king of the Republican Party.
hahahehe
