Karl Rove, political mastermind for former President Bush, said Sunday that Christine O'Donnell, the Tea Party insurgent who won an upset victory in Delaware for the GOP Senate nomination, "can't simply ignore" the controversy stirred over the disclosure that she "dabbled in witchcraft" and has to find a way to "explain it and put it in its most sympathetic light and move on." "In southern Delaware, where there are a lot of church-going people, they're probably going to want to know what was that all about," Rove said on Fox News Sunday. "And again, she said it on television when she went on the ... the Bill Maher show." Rove was referring to an October 1999 appearance O'Donnell made on Maher's "Politically Incorrect" show where she said," I dabbled into witchcraft -- I never joined a coven... One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn't know it." O'Donnell had been on Maher's show frequently in the 1990s, and Maher has said he is going to show an O'Donnell clip each week until she agrees to appear again.

If it wasn’t for his input her “moneybomb” would have been much less. There is a rhyme and reason for the season.
Most of the dabbling seemed at least in my school to occur amongst the semi-popular girl “clicks” who were not popular enough to be part of the really popular ones.
My oldest DD “dabbled” in witchcraft. Covens prey on young girls, and Christine was smart enough to get out of it when she realized that they were screwballs. There is nothing to explain. Covens, like all amoral groups, claim to have answers, and they do not. Christine was a young woman searching. MANY covens are nothing more than recruitment centers for lesbianism. Bob
Perhaps when Karl brings this up, the correct response
is to ask whether he is still dabbling in Christianity.
To liberals that’s even more frightening.
rove need to explain to us why we should care what she did in high school. How does that effect my life?
Rove should ask odumbo to clear up some of his skeletons but that would not be working with our friends across the aisle
Most of the “witchcraft” stuff in the last 50 years is more popular culture nonsense than bearing any real resemblance to real witchcraft in the first place.
I once worked with someone who was actually a wiccan, they though it was quite amusing. They likened it to asking a shintoist in japan about what being a catholic is all about.
I have NO respect for Karl Rove whatsoever. He is part of the ruling class, and he is acting like a baby! Bob
I never trusted Rove much, but this crap is really getting on my nerves.
Rove needs to explain to the voters why is carrying water for the dimocrats.
Karl Rove has become despicable.
We had the clicks in my school as well. I could just imagine what the “really popular” gals were at!
Besides banging the football team...hehehe. Boys have VERY big mouths!
GREAT thinking, Tet!! LOL Bob
Notice how the attacks on Christine O’Donnell follow the same pattern of attacks on Sarah Palin the weekend following her introduction by McCain as the vice-presidential nominee. I still recall that HuffPost ran a picture of Sarah from her days as a high school basketball player - as a means of introducing her to their readers. Here we have a minor league talk show guy dragging out video clips from another century.
In neither case did mainstream commentators discuss either woman’s position on the issues. Instead, immense interest was shown in the education levels of these women (but none in the fact that each had to work to pay for college). Governor Palin’s college degree was demeaned because she had attended several different colleges before graduating. In the case of O’Donnell, the fact that the college had withheld her degree over a debt owed somehow overshadowed the fact that she had performed the necessary academic work. Do liberal women or any men get that treatment?
In both cases (O’Donnell and Palin) the intent is to reduce the woman to an object, preferably an object of ridicule, but always the intent is to strip power and position away. This is done almost exclusively by men. As my wife explained to me, men fear conservative women, period. They especially fear conservative women with guns and Bibles.
For the love of Pete, Karl, STFU!
Who’s side is Karl on anyways?
This is ALL about Palin. The establishment GOP has to defeat her picks in the general election. If her conservative, non “good ‘ol boys” succeed, their power is diminished. They want to pick the next pres candidate (Daniels). They don’t want any one going Rogue.
Rove needs to explain (and please someone in the media ask!) why he is so adamant in his support for Castle. Something smells here - maybe a prid pro quo that needs to be unearthed!
It sounds like she is someone who got close to evil, and saw it for what it really was; and rejected it firmly.
We need more office holders who know good and evil. Most just want to get along.
>>Dang, the guy wont give it up. Has he noticed that her opponent was a marxist? Has he had one thing to say about that?<<
Excellent point! This is the essence of it all, and should be repeated loud and long!!! New tagline:
