The American dollar is in bad need of a makeover. Thanks to the Dollar ReDe$ign Project, we may now have some options. Organized by creative strategy consultant Richard Smith, the Dollar ReDe$ign Project is soliciting ideas for the dollar bill of the future. "Our great 'rival', the Euro, looks so spanky in comparison it seems the only clear way to revive this global recession is to rebrand and redesign," the project notes on its website.

That is because a dollar today is worth less than ten cents. Remember the 10 cent coke? no tax. Today it is about $1.35 before being taxed. The three cent postage stamp today is forty four cents. The 25 cent movie is today over six or seven dollars, and more in some areas. And they dont even have a double feature on weekends! ...and in those days a ten million dollar computer had less computation power than a 99c cell phone today.

The Mint wants to do away with the $1 bill because it’s not as economical as the others. They print the $2 because they have to by law. They’ve redesigned the $5 and up, they need to do the $1 and $2 bills too.

The ONLY paper dollar bill worth having is the one that removes the FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE and replaces the words with... Pay To the Bearer On Demand One Dollar in Gold or Silver. Agreed.

They should go ahead and print the three-dollar bill with Bawney Frank’s picture on it.

You should put the Tepee on the 20 dollar bill. Some Native Americans won’t use the bill because of what Jackson did to their ancestors.

Got a regular 50 Billion note. ACtually nice looking. Use as a paper weigh.

I think you have that backwards. The new dollar will be equal to our current dime. If not the penney. Known as a devaluation. No government obligations will be revised to reflect this. But hey, the government didn’t default...did it?

Why change our currency? I am more concerned with what it’s worth than what it looks like. I hate these people.
To: RedMDer
I didn’t even think about that, but I bet you’re right.

As President Obama would have to be dead for a certain of years in order to be legally qualified to be on U.S. currency, it is apparent that British designer Dowling Duncan is making an implied threat on our President. Perhaps the secret service should look into this right away.
