Christine O'Donnell: 'I Dabbled in Witchcraft'
ABC news ^ | September 18 2010 | RYAN CREED

Posted on 09/18/2010 11:49:47 AM PDT by Michel12

Fresh off her victory in Delaware, GOP U.S. Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell is riding a wave of campaign cash but also internet infamy, thanks in part to her controversial statements -- most notably on masturbation -- in the late 1990s on Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect." Christine O'Donnell says one of her first dates occurred on a satanic altar.

On Friday, Maher released on his new HBO show, "Real Time," an unaired clip of O'Donnell admitting to a brief dalliance with witchcraft.

Someone just through that out, and ofcourse that is just nonsense.

But she should be the next Senator from Del.

I will give you on the prediction point. At this stage, it is all prediction. However, if I were a betting man, I would bet on her win; not her loss just basing it on the numbers. If Christine O’Donnell is able to get through the mine field (some due to her own human failings), and convince Delaware that she would be best for Delaware and the country, she wins.

On the college degree problem. Sometimes colleges will come up with more requirements to fulfill a degree since 1993. I wonder if this did not happen to cause her to take more coursework?

Why did she fail to pay the $4,823? There is more to the story than the $4,823. The fact is she paid for her entire college bill. There was little help from her parents. In 1993 she had $4,823 left to pay. I am sure she took out a loan that took 10 years to pay off. As one of six children, O’Donnell explains, “Americans are struggling and I understand those struggles. I’ve also faced difficult times, but in the end, I persevered.”

She received a foreclosure notice. This is according to Christine O’Donnell: “Contrary to what others are saying, I was lucky to survive this economic turmoil and my home was not foreclosed upon. My home was privately sold in 2008 through a realtor and private mortgage company, not a public foreclosure.” She chalks up the “mortgage mess to a technical error by the bank.”

So what if she dabbled in witchcraft? The lie is that such dabblings make her mentally unstable now.

As for the gender discrimination case, there is nothing that has proven that her claims in the case are not true. She was fired two days after she brought the claim and it was not because she had a conflict of interest problem. It was because she brought the charges against ISI. She dropped the case because she couldn’t afford the lawyer costs. Now what normal person couldn’t relate the that? It is not a lame excuse.

No one is saying that she was not audited by the IRS. Yes, she was audited. But here is how Christine O’Donnell explains it:

“The IRS says the erroneous tax bill was a “computer error.” During my previous campaign against then Sen. Joe Biden, I was audited by the IRS. After a long appeals process; the issue was supposed to have been wrapped up this past spring. Yet, in March, rather than a letter finalizing the appeals process, I received an erroneous tax lien claiming I had not responded to their previous correspondence. The IRS admitted the letter was a mistake, issued a Certificate of Release of Federal Tax Lien on May 19, 2010 and chalked it up to a “computer error.””

I think Christine O’Donnell has answered to all the lies and distortions. We need to move on and support her.

Thank you for the satire! It does come close to how the DemonRATs and their accomplices are on a Tea Party witch hunt. It is on the same level as that nasty episode in the 1950s called McCarthyism when those pesky do-gooders hunted down Communists. I am sure the Left would love to be put on the same level as witch hunters and McCarthyists.

It is interesting to note that the witch hunts that spanned the years from 1480 to 1700 claimed an estimated 40,000 to 100,000 executions. The Left has had their history too.

To use a phrase often seen on threads here at the vaunted FR: “not guilty”.

I said I would vote for her, birdbrain.

But if you think there are no question marks around her, and all loose ends have been tied up, you’re the idiot.

She renounced witchcraft. Good for her.

My point is that you claim Wicca is just another religion. Like it has been accepted by the culture as a whole.

It is political poison, as it should be. If you think people would have no issues with someone who had not renounced witchcraft, having a first date on a Satanic altar, I think you are very, very uninformed.

And if you think America has completely lost its Judeo-Christian moorings, we better both pray to God you are wrong. Because then, America is over.

By the way, O’Donnell lives with a man by the name of David Hust to whom she is not married. Would you consider that the living arrangement of a “real, committed, Bible believing Christian”?<<

wideawake asked a fair question.

...is she better than Coons?

It's not a serious question.

You're on a conservative political discussion website. There is ZERO support for Coons here.

He did well despite the fact that Obama endorsed his opponent for two reasons: he is very well known in DE and while McCain voters seem to have voted for him, only 1 in 5 Democrats voted for him. He was creamed in Wilmington but did better than expected in rural New Castle, where he got his best Democrat showing.

Again, these are not lies. A spokesman from FDU stated unequivocally that she never finished her college coursework until last month. Yet when she ran for Senate the last two times her campaign described her as a college graduate. She did receive a foreclosure notice. She was audited. She herself said she dabbled in witchcraft and she has not held down a job in 7 years. None of this is lies. To call these well-documented facts lies is to be dishonest.

I personally don't care that she's so lazy and irresponsible that she couldn't keep up with her mortgage or bother to file her taxes. Nor do I care that she did occult stuff in her teens.

Plenty of people are like that. What does bother me is that she was fired for cause and her immediate reaction was the liberal reaction: Claim victimhood, demand affirmative action treatment, sue for an amount (more than 100 times her annual salary) that was out of all proportion to her imaginary loss and use her lawsuit as an excuse for everything else in her life - including her own failure to get a job and pay her mortgage. What also bothers me is that she lied about having a college degree. I don't know where you work, but if any employee of mine claimed that they had a degree and they didn't, they'd be gone.

What does going on a date have to do with running the country? (The NASCAR thing is just a simple example - lots of people do something that others consider dumb. I went to a boxing match - etc.)

I hope MORE stories come out - about more and more real Americans running for office.

This media - and establishment government - told us “it was just about sex” while the married President had sex multiple times - with an employee - in the oval office, while conducting business. Then lied about it multiple times - under oath, on TV, etc.

And we are supposed to give a crap that some girl went on a dumb date - what - 15 years ago? As a private citizen?

The Vice President is a sham, who plaigerized his own family history - in a speach - as a sitting Senator.

When the media pays equal attention to the wacky, illegal, and immoral activites of the left that they do WHILE IN OFFICE - only then should we be interested in the dating habits of girls 15-20 years ago. (Frankly - even then I wouldn’t be interested - as it is personal.)

In my opinion - we should not support the silly smears of the establishment and their media.

Following quote from Senator Alan Simpson OCt 29, 2009 NPR.
Mr. SIMPSON: “I think the thing that’s important is that people do know it, and I knew when I ran for public life that the first thing that the media would do would be prowled through everything I’d ever done. So I thought, well, I don’t want them to find it. I just said look, I was on federal probation for two years for shooting mailboxes.

We did commit an arson, which was never found, we destroyed property. And then in Laramie, when I was a freshman and weighed 260 pounds and had hair and thought beer was food, I got in a fight with a guy who got all cut up, not by me, and then the cop arrested me, and I slugged the cop and ended up in the clink for a night and decided, you know, I don’t need this much more. “

There is only one “fair question,” and that is why are you and the other trolls here trying to destroy our candidate?

IOW, doing the work of the Demoncrat party.

You must support the avowed communist.

The “damaging press” is nothing more than partisan spin on inocuous events.

MSM bias is the only reason that any of it is even visible.

Why are you here making such ridiculous comments?

Maybe you really are a con man?

The Lord replaced “Mosaic Law” with “he who is without sin shall cast the first stone,” and “love thy neighbor as thy self.”

Who are you working for? - Obviously not the Lord.

Her reply should be, “Yes, I did some foolish things when I was young. Anyone who will not admit to the same probably hasn’t grown up yet. It’s what you do and say after you grow up that’s the important thing.

And I wish those who want to convince you that I’m not fit to represent Delaware would focus on the issues that are important to the people instead of what I said and did when I was seventeen. Unfortunately, they realize when it comes right down to it, my positions on the important issues facing our country resonate with the people who love America and are angry that this current crop of politicians in Washington seem to be working against their interests.”

Excellent response—Seriously. I think you should send this to her; I am not sure her PR folks know where the campaign is headed.
