Michelle Obama thinks being Americas First Lady is hell, Carla Bruni reveals today in a wildly indiscreet new book.
Miss Bruni reveals that Mrs Obama replied when asked about her position as the U.S. presidents wife: Dont ask! Its hell. I cant stand it!
Details of the private conversation, which took place at the White House during an official visit by Nicolas Sarkozy last March, emerged in Carla And The Ambitious, a book written in collaboration with Miss Bruni.

LOL! I hadn’t seen that one!!! She’s wearing pearls (double-strand, no less) with this psychedelic half-assed argyle sweater and 50’s poof skirt. It may well have a poodle on it that we just can’t see.
LMAO! What a total loser!! :) :) :)
Coons is white...so feel free to make all the Raccoon jokes you want.
Good grief. The wig, the belt, the shoes and.......bare-legged. The dress is bad enough, but could be okay on the right person.
Manchelle has a really weird shape in that her waist, to the extent that she has one, is right below her bust. Then her hip line starts, so anything she wears that has a sewn-in waist hits at the wrong place and if she wears a belt, it always looks empire. Wearing that ugly, humungous belt just emphasizes the weirdness of her shape. I don’t get the shoes at all and I don’t get wearing pumps with no nylons.
Gawd, she is a mess.
Well, I would have felt free to no matter what race he is, but the reason I asked is because Harry Reid called him his “pet.” If Coons was black and Reid said that, there would have been an outcry if Reid was a pub.
You’re right. Looking at the dress not on Manchelle, it’s actually cute and it would look good on Carla. It has a bit of a Grace Kelly look to it. The dress needs to be on a petite woman with a small waist because of the fabric change at the waist, not on an amazon like Manchelle.
The dress is quite feminine, which makes that horrid metal belt so terribly wrong for it.
Take another look.
She didn't button the sweater correctly.
Pretty dress. Wrong body. I don’t know why she ever went with a sweater look. Grace Kelly she ain’t. She simply doesn’t have the body for it. She does OK when she balances out the proportions — boat neck collars, large prints, raglan sleeves, atop capris?
this ‘faux-pas’ is particularly dear to my whitey whitey heart!
I watch her clothing choices more than her husbands politics and remember every thing she wears-it is as if she blindfolds herself when picking out something to wear from wherever she gets it.
This woman obviously has the resources and any designer at her beck and call to make her look presentable and it’s not happening-Carla is not lying-machete machelle really does hate her job
I can’t see it well enough to tell except that the two sides are uneven on the bottom. But knowing the weirdo, gawd-awful stuff she chooses, it seems possible the sweater is made that way and that was what appealed to her about it, lol! ;)
Definitely had the blinders on when she picked this number (I forget how to insert an image):

I agree with a lot of what you have said about her fight against obesity. Honestly, I don’t think she really cares about the issue. But, because she is first lady, she has to have an “issue” like all of the other first ladies to keep her in the spotlight with photo-ops and to help her keep her poll numbers high. And since she started out on the wrong foot with her controversial remarks about pride for her country she had to pick something that wouldn’t ruffle any feathers, so she chose obesity. But I agree that she’s going about it in the wrong way with her lecturing and pointing fingers, which turns people off.
Regarding her fashion: She obviously has chosen not to go the cookie-cutter route like most traditional first ladies. Since she is younger and very tall she is going to get more attention than Laura Bush, whose clothes were tasteful but forgettable. As an amateur fashion critic I can say that most of Michelle’s choices have been good, especially her evening gowns and dresses. She has made a few mistakes (I didn’t care for the inaugural white gown—too junior prom-like) or the black ensemble for meeting the pope (the black veil was too long).
If you think most of her fashion choices have been good, there’s really not a lot I can say to you about your talent that wouldn’t be insulting. I know a thing or two about it myself.
this dress has had me baffled for some time - 1st-the colors-atrocious-&the pattern on the material looks like she shopped the bargain bin at 2 bit Teheran bazaar fabric merchant-& #3 the design of the dress-who was she trying to impress? certainly not Carla who has access to everything in French design. Would this have been something she would have worn on her first day of her promotion at Chicago Univ Hosp to a position that was created expressly for her where she was making 315,000.00 a year? Maybe she thought this is what “french speaking peoples” wore..........still baffles me
Anna Wintour could pull this one off, too.
It looks slightly similar to a dress I had in high school as far as the colors go (not the style or that ridiculous bow), but it also looks like something I made in Home Ec nearly forty years ago, again sans the bow. Maybe it wound up in that Tehran thrift shop you mentioned and Manchelle stuck a bow on it. Seriously, it is totally baffling, I agree.
Yes, I think you hit it.
Struggle for MO,= Shtruggle.
Another example:
Sit = Shit.
Michele Obama to Carla Bruni:
“Carla, Shit here, have a sheat.”
Carla to Michele:
“I will not shit here in public, are you crazy beech?”
LMAO! :)
