(Reuters) - Republican candidate Marco Rubio has opened a clear lead in a Florida Senate race, becoming the latest "Tea Party" favorite to benefit from voter anger at Washington, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found on Wednesday.
Six weeks ahead of Nov. 2 congressional elections, Rubio leads state Governor Charlie Crist, an independent, by 40 percent to 26 percent among likely voters, the poll found. Democrat Kendrick Meek trails at 21 percent.

“The poll found the race to replace Crist as governor is very close with Republican Rick Scott and Democrat Alex Sink statistically tied, Scott with 47 percent and Sink with 45 percent.”
They buried this of course.
I didn't know he was getting married! Who's the lucky man?
Fox News, a strange result which had Rubio way ahead and Scott way behind
CNN registered voters
PPP, a Dem outfit which polled the Saturday and Sunday before the primary
I think going forward we'll see that those polls are not representative.
Is it possible he doesn’t need to spend money in SW Florida?
He got a “BEARD” a few years back!
WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll bet he will, as if he over opposed it since anyone that has lived in Florida most of their life knows he’s a homo.
Woohoo! Great news!
“Never thought Id cheer for a dem but DAMN, I hope Meek passes Crist (with Rubio winning big, of course)!”
actually pull for them being around even that way supporters of one or the other wont change their mind at the last minute and vote for the one on top.
Rubio will have to concede the Key West vote. ;~))
how is the Scott/Sink race going down there anyway? all i hear is Sink ahead. I really hope Florida has a GOP Gov this election - Redistricting year and all
Most of the polls I’ve seen have Sink ahead but it’s a pretty mixed bag. Two September polls have Sink up by 7-8 points, another one has her up by only two, and Reuters/Ipsos has Scott ahead by two. I think it will be pretty close regardless of who wins. Scott has deep pockets, but he was bloodied during the primary with McCollum. My thinking is that the better Rubio does, the better it will be for Scott. If Rubio can get his total up to 44 or 45%, Scott will probably benefit.
just go to barackobama.com and sign up and pretend to be a Meek supporter. Call Crist out as a Lieberman - be subtle of course, they don’t like Crist over there - just egg ‘em on a little.
Probably in charge of the tanning booth.
From Reuters? The piece was undoubtedly IMMERSED in tear stains.
PAGING THE GOP AND RNC!!!! WAKE UP!!
>>Crist just announced that hes withdrawing his opposition to gay marriage.
Does this mean he finally found the right guy?
We expected this. Rubio is a stellar candidate. Crist is floundering for constituencies now. He is the “Onward Pandering Soldier” candidate now.
