The day before the Delaware U.S. Senate primary, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) raised money using the name of the eventual winner, Christine O'Donnell.
A search of Google News on Monday using the search term "Christine O'Donnell" returned a paid advertisement by the NRSC at the top of the search field soliciting donations. A click through on the ad's link went to the NRSC's donation page. This indicates that the NRSC purchased "Christine O'Donnell" from Google.
I did not make a screen grab as it seemed more a curiousity than anything terribly newsworthy at the time. However, with the NRSC letting it be known they will not be funding O'Donnell--and doing so before she even gave her victory speech last night--their hypocrisy in raising money off her name must be exposed.
She was polling ahead of Coons until the Republican establishment attacked her for being an ordinary American instead of rich girl. Debt? The Castles and Roves want to talk about debt. How about the 13 trillion they’ve loaded onto us taxpayers.
Exactly. The Ivy League stranglehold on politics has only grown stronger these past few decades. The elitists love their own and they pander to the poor. It's the middle class they despise.
Maybe because we're on to them.
Oh, I'll vote alright. But I'm never voting again for a Republican just because he/she has an R behind their name. The argument that Republicans have to get control of the Senate and House just doesn't hold water for me anymore. I'd rather elect fewer true conservatives and fail to gain control of Congress this time around, than to "win" Congress and have a bunch of RINOs who won't do a dam* thing to fix what's wrong. Then perhaps a few more real conservatives next time around.
To paraphrase someone else on this forum, I'd rather take a step toward a "majority in thought" than a leap toward a "majority in name."
I now see the Republican establishment for what they are: a bunch of arrogant, self-centered, elitist, deaf, power-hungry, backstabbing, pissant, bast*rds. I'm done with them. I'm only sorry it took me so long to get to this point.
From now on I'm voting for whoever represents me best, whether or not they are Republican, and whether or not they have a snowball's chance of winning. And to that end, I'm actually voting for a real, honest-to-goodness, pro-life, conservative Democrat to our House of Delegates. I guess you could say he's a DINO.
Christine has done more to invigorate conservatives and America than ever thought possible! Just look at her website...she's on fire.
The Rinos are liars and damned liars. They are also traitors. I think to America, but some will argue only to party.
It was not a rumor, the NRSC had it posted on their Facebook page last night (and it has now been removed) that they would not support O’Donnell. They also sent out a press release saying the same which was reported on Fox News and followed up by the other channels/news.
Please continue giving to the candidates and PAC’s of your choice but please get back involved with your local and state GOP. We have a goal to take over the party and to have the majority position - in fact, we are the majority.
We can not take over the party if good conservatives do not become involved.
And take Michael "Token" Steele with him.
Time for Cornyan Steele to step down, and time to give the RNC an enema! You have embarrassed and angered the majority of your own party. Now we’re going to show you who is in CONTROL!
Kristinn, I take screen shots of everything now. I have thousands. You just never know when things will disappear or when you will need them. I bought an external drive to use for just my screen shots. That way I can’t lose them if my computer should crash. I have them organized in folders. I’m still working on the thousands that I took before I began organizing them.
He congratulated her.
"I haven't made up my mind yet! Oh, now, I have and I've chosen to contribute directly to the candidate of my choice. Thank you for your lack of support!"
After all, she took out a Castle...
Cheers!
Re #83 Understood, although I can’t imagine ever voting for a ‘rat again.
This has really nothing to do with anything but some might find it interesting.
My wife volunteered to work in a local Republican campaign office during our primary. The place was run by two of the local “Republican” higher ups.
My wife noticed with the candidates “they” didn’t like, all of the materials (stickers, signs, handouts) were kept in the back or stacked up in the corner.
The candidates “they” liked had a buffet of stuff spread over three tables you nearly bumped into when you walked in the door.
So the wife asked one day, who gave they keep materials of the other candidates locked up? She asked them if they thought this is why more people don’t run, and nearly got into a shouting match and thought better of it. She quit and never went back.
This is all local stuff, but I think the same problem applies with the “party”. The Republican Party Central Committee should stay the hell out of primaries, remain unbias, and let the process work.
The attacks on this woman are ridiculous. Her critics completely miss the point.
Her win is not a ringing endorsement. No one thinks she is Reagan reborn.
Her win is an indictment of the RINO arm of the Republican party. People are tired of the elitist, aristocratic, career politicians.
Now, all the criticism does is make the enemy stronger. Cowboy up and support your party’s nomination.
We saw how raising money for Arlen Spectre worked out for them.
They are no better running their committee than they are running the party and the country.
Who funds the NRSC. Do they make contributions from their campaign funds? I don't want my contributed $$$ going to that mess...so I don't contribute to incumbants.
I actually think she is better without them..Americans are sick of the system and the parties are the things that hold it together..
I hope someone good runs against both our Texas Senators in 2012.
