Court documents obtained Saturday by THE WEEKLY STANDARD reveal surprising new details about the gender discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit filed by Christine O'Donnell in 2005 against her former employer, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, a conservative non-profit based in Delaware.* O'Donnell, who is now challenging moderate congressman Mike Castle in the September 14 Delaware GOP Senate primary, sought $6.95 million in damages. In a court complaint, she extensively detailed the "mental anguish" she suffered after allegedly being demoted and fired because of her gender. And, although she didn't have a bachelor's degree until this year, O'Donnell implied she was taking Master's degree classes at Princeton University in 2003.
O'Donnell alleged in a July 1, 2005 complaint filed in district court that she had been demoted because ISI's conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men. She claimed she was fired when she contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regarding her demotion. ISI told the Delaware News Journal that she had been "terminated for operating a for-profit business."
O'Donnell's finances, honesty, and stability have been called into question in light of her false and strange claims. The court complaint raises further questions on all fronts. O'Donnell, who made an annual salary of $65,000 at ISI as director of communications and public affairs, sought up to $6,952,477 million in damages, claiming, among other allegations, that ISI had defamed her and had violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. O'Donnell sought:
--Up to $3,952,447 in "Direct Damages, including back pay" and "lifetime lost income and liftetime damage to reputation."

Some of the comments here are as bad as the comments from people who voted here in AZ for McCain — because they didn’t think JD could win in November......... and this is why we keep returning people like McCain, Graham, and Castle to DC.
I looked at the ACU ratings for 04-09.
Castle is more conservative than Snowe, more liberal than Collins.
You are looking at the amended complaint. It is in the original complaint which she filed herself pro se. It is on Page 54. When she got a lawyer, he apparently deleted the demand for a sum certain. Which is not at all unusual.

TQC - let me clarify. They ‘revealed’ new details about this two days in advance of the election.
I also don’t think it’s true that O’Donnell can’t win in the general - although that may be conventional wisdom.
Kirk is an unfortunate debacle. Hopefully we can deal with him in 6 years.
This primary is only about one thing now. Castle or not. I may like what she says but i despise Blumenthal in CT for lying so why do i give O’Donnell a pass on it.
And don’t forget what a sack of crap Castle is. He’s much worse than McCain. More liberal than Collins, more conservative than Snowe.
Just to clarify, you said:
I guarantee you there are more people out there, men and women, who would and should have filed cases for gender discrimination, were there any justice left in this country.
President Bush said:
You cant be pro-small business and pro-trial lawyer at the same time. - George W. Bush
...so?
>>>In fact, its damn odd he did an interview with ODonnell<<<
You are sure right about that. He did get upstaged by a very young participant the Friday before at Jimmy’s Grill when the child asked a question of the ‘White Witch’ Baronness (Michele Rollins - No, not a slur - White Witch is the name of her 600 acre pro golf course on her 7,000 acre Jamaican luxury resort) - Asked her what the freedoms in the 1st Amendment were and she couldn’t answer - mumbled something about that wasn’t important right now.
Dan seemed to want to redeem himself with a ‘gotcha’ session with Christine. His interview started - we have Christine O’Donnell here, lets get right to it - did you say....... here’s my tape...... ‘gotcha’... (I only heard it by listening to part of the tape on their site)
I seldom listen to the AM portion on the station - mostly Bill and Duke.
Thanks. Is the ACU rating based strictly on the voting record reflecting what the ACU believes the conservative position should be on any given legislative issue? That’s the way I’ve understood ACU ratings. Is that an accurate assessment of their methodology? Because if it is, Castle is really, really bad. I would imagine there are many rats with better numbers than he has.
So after all this discussion, we now know that:
Castle = power for the Ruling Class
O’Donnell = liberty for the people
An earlier post cited a 28% conservative rating for Castle, worse than most Democrats.

Stop Cap & Trade
Stop Castle
You can always support the ruling class. Not that it’s possible to come up with a supportable excuse, but you have the right.
As a conservative I don’t believe in employment discrimination laws.

Are there any rats that are more out of sync with their party platform (progressive BS) than some “pubs” are? In other words, who would be a rat with a comparably unfavorable standing with an imaginary ALU (American Leftist Union)? I can’t think of any rat who is as conservative as Castle is leftist.
I don’t know, I can’t imagine her being worse because I consider the career politicians in DC the be pretty much the bottom of the barrel.
Plus what are you worried about, according to her detractors she absolutely 100% for sure can’t beat Coons any way.
So which is it, are you afraid she can win, or are you afraid she can’t win?
People and businesses file civil suits every day. That does not make them for or against trial lawyers or tort reform.
You still have made no valid point with your nonsensical posts.
I’m afraid DE is going to elect someone, period. :)
