The Quran Burning Controversy Was a Pivotal Moment in America's History and We Blew It Big Time
me

Posted on 09/10/2010 3:06:12 PM PDT by Cubs Fan

Though a member of FR for years now I Haven’t written a vanity in a long time, but because of the events of the last few days re-- the quran burning controversy, I am going to break that trend and humbly ask that my fellow freepers read this.

When crosses were put in urine, when flags are burned, when the virgin mary was depicted with feces, what was our response? Yes it stung, yes it made many of us angry, but our response was we denounced these actions with words. There was no violence, nor threat of violence.

Contrast that to the response of muslims to burning the Koran. We are told in no uncertain terms that if Korans are burned there will be violence.

The answer in this situation should have been obvious--however angry the burning of a Koran may make you, you cannot make threats to silence people, that is completely unacceptable.

Somehow though, over the last few days, the left ,the conservative punditry and sadly even some here on the right, have, instead opted to confer exalted status on Islam. Giving Muslims the right not to be offended, and if offended, the right to threaten violence. This is a status no other religion in the world enjoys, NOR EVER SHOULD.

And that is why muhammed must be depicted, and that is why Korans need to be burned, to show muslims they cannot dictate to us what we can and can’t do with threats of violence.

That is what should have happened, instead sadly, the opposite, the ultimate appeasement occurred.

This was a pivotal moment in our history and we blew it big time.

All I can say is that if we continue down this road of surrendering constitutional rights so that muslims won’t be offended and won’t hurt us for it, then we may as well pack up our soldiers and bring them home, because we’ll have lost the war on terror, in our own backyard.

I wasn't surprised in the least by BOR, I was somewhat taken aback by Buchanan's comments -- I can only assume that age has softened his head.

But all of this brings about a very basic question: Why are there seemingly NO conservative (or otherwise) politicians or pundits speaking the TRUTH? (I've asked this question before and have yet to receive any answers: Are there any politicians or pundits on the national scene that are speaking the TRUTH about the EVIL that is called islam? Please let me know if there are any that I have just not heard about. Maybe some in Europe like Geert Wilders, after all, they have experienced the islamization of their countries for several decades now.)

Newt got "close" in some of his recent remarks about islam but of course he ended up covering up the TRUTH by babbling about "moderate muslims." I have to say, other than reading the posts of fellow FReepers that speak the TRUTH, I encounter no one that is willing to stop pretending that the false "religion" deserves Constitutional protections while they march forward daily toward their clearly stated goals of making islam dominate the entire world. What part of that is the least bit confusing to them? Do they not believe what these EVIL monsters are saying? Do they insist on discounting centuries of history that very clearly explain what islam really is?

I find it both very disturbing and confusing that we can not find one (political or thought) "Leader" in the US that is willing to speak the TRUTH, and not much more than a small handful (like Mr. Wilders) throughout the rest of Western Civilization.

Maybe they need to read Mr. Harris' book: The Suicide of Reason: Radical Islam's Threat to the Enlightenment. (Yes, I post this link often, I am not Mr. Harris and don't not make a cent from his book sales, I only post the link to his book because I have read it and consider it a very valuable tool in promoting awareness about our suicidal PC chains that are allowing this EVIL to progress unabated toward our demise. I truly wish that everyone that gets a chance takes the time to read this book. It can be purchased at a fairly low price on the online sites, especially as an e-book download, and I am sure that most large libraries have a copy for loan.)

I agree and from the looks of these threads on FR, most conservatives agree. The constitution is being threatened by the elite’s politically correct surrender to jihad. It is the plan of the UN. It is the plan of the Muslim in Chief. It is just like the surrender to communism during the cold war until Reagan came along.

Come to think of it, you're right. We are in a religious war and everyone knows it but won't say it. The answer to some of these questions are religious and spiritual and a lot of conservatives do not feel comfortable having a public discussion that involves doctrinal beliefs. I think there is a fear among a lot of them of being narrowly defined should they come out and advocate a solution based upon scripture and/or political incorrectness.

I, also, feel it is an oxymoron to say Moderate Muslim. Because if you read all about their ultimate goal, it is to be united under the Caliphate and conquer the world and have everyone submit to sharia law and their prophet. I have read interviews with "moderate Muslims" who feel that this is what is supposed to happen and apparently me and anyone else who disagrees will have to submit or, literally, be discarded.

Yes, I agree, PC tells everyone that you cannot criticize anyone for their religious beliefs (or lack thereof). What needs to happen (if we are to begin to preserve all of Western Civilization) is that people need to understand that islam is NOT a religion at all. It uses a thin religious veneer for two purposes:
1. It masks the core of sharia which is a total governmental, societal, cultural and militaristic construct with the clearly stated goal of world domination. Hiding all of this behind the name of "religion" allows them to claim "religious freedoms" and governmental protections as it operates inside of Western liberal democracies to destroy them.
2. It whips its adherents into a frenzy that ultimately leads to violent and destructive acts.

The sooner that we can get a majority of people in Western Civilization to refuse the pretense that this EVIL is a "religion" of any sort, the sooner we can get people to stop protecting it and start fighting it. If a reasonable person is confronted with the tenets of sharia without that thin veneer of "religion" masking its true identity and purpose, they would immediately recoil at its horror.

Veneers are always used to make something look different; quite often in woodworking they are used to mask cheap underlays or unattractive species. They can make a plywood box appear to be constructed from Mahogany boards! Same thing here, the veneer of "religion" is simply masking a death cult that wants all of us dead (or at a minimum, serving them from a position of submission).

Buchanan, O'Reilly, one Cabinet head after another -- quite a few masks are being dropped. Now the MSM have made it clear that they see themselves not as beneficiaries of the First Amendment, but rather as part of the new American nomenklatura.

However, they don't have a true Stalinist spine. Sooner or later, and with a little help from rest of us, they're bound to trip over their own, shall we say, shoelaces.

It all depends on the meaning of "peace," doesn't it.

The only peace recognized by Mohammedans is the unquestioning submission of their victims. Until this fact is acknowledged by the civilized West, we'll remain complicit in our own destruction.
