GAINESVILLE, Fla. The anti-Muslim leader of a tiny Florida church says he was lied to and is rethinking his decision to cancel burning Qurans to mark 9/11.
Pastor Terry Jones earlier Thursday had backed off his threat to burn the Quran after he said he was promised that a planned Islamic center and mosque would be moved away from New York's ground zero. Muslim leaders denied there was such a deal.
Later outside his church he said that the imam he thought he made the deal with "clearly, clearly lied to us" about moving the mosque.

What, they get 35 virgins for a lie, but 72 for blowing themselves up???
The long term “longevity” incentive seems rather obvious to me...
So I would summize it is preferable (to the average islamic terrorist) to lie, than to get one shot at martyrdom by turning yourself into a grease spot...
That’s just my opinion...
Pat Buchanan is on Morning Joe saying Pastor Jones should be arrested. Damn, these people are crazier than Jones. Buchanan is nuts. Why don’t they realize it’s the muslims who are crazy, not Jones. I am outraged that no one is saying the muslims are the problem!
“... and this pastor is trying to stop the mosque.”
This changes the dynamic. While the pastor was indecisive about the mosque being a game changer in an earlier conversation with Hannity [probably because he puts decisions to a vote], at least now he has a more reasonable justification.
i don’t think any muslim would hesitate to slit the throat of a Christian. Their entire goal is to make the World a muslim World that is under Sharia law...you don’t know that? Seriously, you don’t know that???
We need to prove to Islam that we are different than cowering Europe, that we will not be intimidated. I personally would aim my fire more at the terrorists and nutty imams, but this minister filled the leadership gap. The question is — why is there a leadership gap?
“The statement we will not back down in the face of evil is good. One cannot call cowering in the shadows a life of freedom.”
Foolish or not, he’s calling attention to old fashioned defiance, American-style. A mob of patriots once tossed tea into the water. It was a vandalous act — who can honestly say that was un-American?
I do hope our non-Christian allies understand why he is doing this though, and that many of us do appreciate their love of freedom. This is confusing them.
What’s really crazy is that there are over 52,000 comments to this article at the source.
It`s to bad that he wasn`t a good guy, is what I am so badly trying to say. We do not want the troops in harms way over this!!!
What strikes me though as the most ironic, is this.... All of a sudden Democrats are supposedly worried about the troops on the ground???
And Obama and Hillary the tramp, who both voted AGAINST even funding food and bullets for the military, are all of a sudden concerned about the troops.
I channel surf in the mornings, too. I like to hear different points of view, but this was beyond the pale. Wanting Jones arrested shows what liberals really are, not that I ever had any doubt, but Buchanan shocked me. I just wish one of them would have pointed out that it is the muslims’ reactions that are the real problem.
Jones is the only guy standing up to the muzzies by his actions, everyone else is just talking and then running for cover.
I’LL stand with Jones.
Precisely what Pastor Jones pointed out to Meredith Viera when she asked him if he felt personally responsible for a Nato soldier's death over this. He suggested she examine the nature of the muslims vs. Americans who watch our flag and bibles being burned yet do not kill as revenge. Of course that fact was beyond her comprehension.
Joe Scarborough is the biggest loser that ever lived IMHO. And they all despise Sarah
I have been very disappointed that I have not heard one single news person say that maybe - just maybe - the muslims agree the problem. None. No politicians, no religious leaders, no one - except Terry Jones. The guy might be a nut, but at least he speaks the truth.
Oh, that looks like work.
You could benefit from listening to Rush.
He spent a great deal of time the other day talking about how everyone has their weaknesses, and how abandoning them over that is weaking our coutry.
"We came to say, the Quran is our constitution, we are committed to God and his holy book," he said to those holding the texts in their hands at a stadium in the northern town of Beit Lahiya. "God willing, should they try to carry out their crime against the Quran, God will tear their state apart and they will become God's lesson to anyone who tries to desecrate the holy book."
The quran is their constitution? Think about the implications of that statement for Muslims who happen to be American citizens. Islam is not just a religion; It's also a political structure. They owe allegiance to Islam and are bound by the law of the Quran.

Meanwhile, President Obama, Sec of State Clinton, Sec of Defense Gates, Atty General Holder, and General Petraeus are squirming about how to handle that guy in Florida who is forcing them to make a decision.
Obama is a 3 ring circus.
