GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The anti-Muslim leader of a tiny Florida church says he was lied to and is rethinking his decision to cancel burning Qurans to mark 9/11.
Pastor Terry Jones earlier Thursday had backed off his threat to burn the Quran after he said he was promised that a planned Islamic center and mosque would be moved away from New York's ground zero. Muslim leaders denied there was such a deal.
Later outside his church he said that the imam he thought he made the deal with "clearly, clearly lied to us" about moving the mosque.

What the story did he say he talked to the Imam , who phones who ? I never heard the details.
I'm amazed at the lockstep of the talking heads from all TV stations on this. It doesn't matter which TV host it is,or which network, they use the word "kook" or "loon" or something similar describing this pastor.
I know some Freepers simply do not watch CNN, I do not blame them one bit. It is on in my house, so I do keep an eye on it. Tonight, I will overwork the word "unbelievable". Anderson Cooper of 360, had one David Gergen, Paul Begala, Jeffrey Toobin on. There was one polite man who seemed to make a few points apart.
It was a hissy fit. Then men agreeing that they the media were in a sense responsible for giving the pastor what he wanted. Gergen offered an excuse vis: "If a man stands on the sidewalk with a stick of dynamite and threatens to light it with a match, what do you do?" They splattered the medium with insulting terms about the pastor.
Worse was to come. They literally ran an unpaid promo for a representative Alan Grayson (D). The family man at the carnival with five children and so on. Then they ran an video of an unsuccessful candidate for a republican nomination. A man ranting incoherently. They snickered.
Apart from Canada's CBC television, which is virtually in the pocket of the Liberal Party, though much more subtle, CNN is so corrupt it does not even know it.
Just heard that Jones went to Cape Girardeau HS with Rush Limbaugh, lol....Just wait ‘til the DU and KOS get hold of that morsel....
Let’s see here when the apostles went out they were run out of towns Pauls had been imprisoned and had bee beaten with rods why do you think they did all this stuff to the apostles? Just cause they wanted to or did they do something to have them beaten and run out of town.Oh and PS Jesus called the religious leaders of His day vipers and the children of the devil.

Jones missed Mohammeds’ chapter authorizing muslims to lie to “infidels” when the deceit advances Islam.

An imam (Arabic: إمام plural أئمة A'immah, Persian: امام) is an Islamic leadership position, often the leader of a mosque and the community.
So all of us Americans using this arabic word know what it means. So we are technically calling him FAther like we would a priest. I would prefer to call him a ItroubleMakerThatSupportshamasSoHeIsaTerrorist
But see, calling them vipers doesn't equate with doing what they do. Turning the cheek seven times seventy times is the standard to response to that kind of adversity (I admit I'm not that good at that)
If you want to run people out of town or beat them with rods go on with your bad self. But admit you're doing it in the name of those that did it to the apostles... not in His name as the pastor here is doing.

No, that is something that needs to be spoken out against. Strongly so. But it is legal under our ideals, and I won't support sacrificing our ideals purely for the sake of denying "them" a victory.
