The United States government in no way condones such acts of disrespect against the religion of Islam, and is deeply concerned about deliberate attempts to offend members of religious or ethnic groups.
The embassy wants to emphasize that we strongly condemn the offensive messages, which are contrary to U.S. government policy and deeply offensive to Muslims especially during the month of Ramadan.
President Obama made clear in Cairo in his speech on June 4, 2009 that he considers it part of his responsibility as President to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they occur. And during his recent Iftar speech at the White House he said: Let me be clear: as a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country.
Americans from all religious and ethnic backgrounds reject the offensive initiative by this small group in Florida. A great number of American voices are protesting the hurtful statements made by this organization. Numerous interfaith and religious groups in America are actively working to counter this kind of ignorance and misinformation that is offensive to so many people in the U.S. and around the world.
Just a few days ago, President Obamas Special Envoy to the OIC, Rashad Hussain visited Afghanistan, reaching out to political leaders, religious leaders, students and all citizens of Afghanistan, communicating the important message of friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the U.S. and Muslim communities all around the world.
Im sure this little infantile tantrum will make the new gold star mothers feel better...
HUH??? you are very VERY wrong here trying to silence opposition to the Muslim take over of our country..
I think we should think very carefully about how we put our soldiers at risk with our action and weigh that against what other tools we have to fight Islam.
I think we have other options besides possibly inflaming Islamic terrorism to a degree that is unmanageable in Afghanistan, at home and around the world.
I think this is exactly what the imams and the Islamic extremists want us to do to garner overwhelming support and sympathy for murdering non-Muslims.
Amen!
True. But this will also serve to prove up what we Americans have been screaming about as well - - - that the Muslims are a very very evil lot of people that should be battled against in every corner of this world. The true believers of Islam are sick, demented, abhorrent evil people.
A ruler who doesn’t think they are limited by the constitution or by law is Considered to be Oppressive.
That is a fair definition of The One that doesn’t seem to recognize the people’s freedom of speech, or any other rights for that matter.
Outstanding post! LOL and President Comedian BUMP!
Yeah - I seem to recall he harkened to the 1st amendment for the mosque too.
Here’s an idea for you. Instead of spamming every Islam thread with all of that, why not just post it once and then post links back to the original post. Having seen it once, it becomes a pain to have to scroll through it over and over.
...burned a few this weekend.../s =.=
But it is a quick introduction to the real America.
As much as I hate the offensive things some nuts do in the name of free speech, I respect their right.
Good time for a pig roast/BBQ on that site.
Have you ever seen any president stand up against US flag burning??? Or any cop doing anything in front of mexicans walking on US flag??? I am so disgusted right now.
Who burned a koran and where can I can get several hundred copies very cheaply so I can have my own supply to publicly burn in front of mosques?
The real America is into pointless stupid stunts?
Explain what good it will do?
Bad idea. The First Amendment won't be looked upon kindly by the police in many places. They'll bust you for inciting a riot and slap a "hate crime" charge on top of it. Guaranteed.
I'm not so sure having some self appointed apostle and his flock blow boogers on Islam could effectively called 'push back'.

Yeah, he speaks out so often against the slanderous comments against Christians and their faith
What a liar
Better burning their filthy book (on the church’s own property) than signing up for dhimmitude.
The embassy wants to emphasize that we strongly condemn the offensive Islamic messages, which are contrary to U.S. government policy and deeply offensive to Americans especially during the month of September.
Surely you jest here?!
