The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Always, indeed, STARWISE. I can't wait to hear from our President in the coming weeks as he talks about his book. I think because of what we have been through since he has been out of office many people are going to realize what a great man we had in the White House.

George W. Bush Describes One of His Worst Drunken Moments
###
Excerpt:
“I wasn’t a knee-walkin’ drunk,” the former president tells Matt Lauer in an interview previewing his new memoir, Decision Points. “I could easily have a beer or two, or a martini, before dinner, bourbons, B&Bs. I was a drinker.”
Of his relationship with alcohol, Bush says, “It became a love and, therefore, began to compete for my love with my wife and my daughters.”
It also got him in trouble with his parents.

“It became a love and, therefore, began to compete for my love with my wife and my daughters”
That’s the most simple and succinct explanation of addiction .. brilliantly put.
I have a short memory and I’m OLD...........can you remind us the day before these interviews occur so I can set my DVR?? ;*)
Old my foot — you have the body of a teenager!!
And yes, I will remind you and the DOSE family the day before each interview!
(That's the war with Patton and Eisenhower, Midway and D Day.......it was a long time ago, that war.... :)
So thanks for the reminder (and the too kind compliment!)
Speaking of REMINDERS:
Tomorrow (11/5) GEORGE AND LAURA BUSH celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary:
1977 - former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, in Midland, Texas. George and Laura were married in a small wedding in the Glass Chapel of the First United Methodist Church. It was the same church where Laura had been baptized. The officiant was the Rev. Jerry Wyatt. They didn’t have any bridesmaids, or groomsmen, or flower girls, or ringerbearers. Their wedding invitations were printed by hand. George and Laura did not have a honeymoon. George wore a business suit with an orchid boutonniere. Laura wore a candlelight beige crepe de chine street length dress with long-sleeves, a single strand of pearls, and a corsage of white gardenias at her waist.
