The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Thanks!
WHAT FUN! thanks Patty for the great pix & ping
NOW .. Lookie our Laura... what a First Lady SHOULD LOOK LIKE!
Course, SuziQ and I would have reported on that...were it another day ;-)
Yeah, SuziQ - it seems like forever ago.
You got that right NordP! Pres. Bush is a Texan through and through. He's not into the tux and tie thing, he'd much rather be wearing blue jeans, a grubby old shirt and cowboy boots. He dresses for comfort and has an attitude that says, "If you don't like what I'm wearing, then take or leave it."
Gotta love his desire for being an individual and not going along with the rest of the crowd!:)
Absolutely, Dolly. Laura dresses appropriately for her age and doesn’t need to wear trashy clothing and too much makeup to highlight her classic beauty.
That current First Lady Moochelle O is an absolute mess...Good Lord!
You're welcome, LUV. I am always amazed at the things I find constantly on a daily basis. The Bushes look as though they've stepped into the fountain of youth and had ten years shaved off of their faces!
You gotta give them credit for sticking to a healthy lifestyle by exercising, eating right and staying away from drugs and alcohol! :)
A hallmark of the annual dinner is the clubs jokey nomination of a VIP guest as its candidate for president this year, the former Florida governor, whose easy and witty speech had some Republicans in the room misty-eyed about the one who got away.
With two presidents in the family, he said, you got to deal with a lot of bossiness. If I say, Who put you in charge?, Dad says, The American people. And George says, The Supreme Court, five to four.
Musing about the 2012 GOP hopefuls, Jeb went on, The field was so muddled, at one point my brother was thinking about running again. George, I said, The Constitution prohibits you from running again. He said, Wow, they put my name in the Constitution?
These two pics were taken by someone was who actually there at the dinner. Thats pretty remarkable given that the press photographers were not allowed inside there:
Thats John Boehner (I think), some unidentified man, GWB, Bush 41 and Barbara. Obummer was actually at the dinner and in the original pic, but I cut him out in Photoshop so you wouldnt have to see him! ;)
Great close-up shot of Dubya at the podium where he jokingly nominated Jeb as the Alfalfa party's candidate for President!
Chief Justice Roberts next to Boehner.
The “unidentified man” looks to be Chief Justice Roberts.
BTW, I agree with the others, the man looks like Chief Justice Roberts.
Keep up the good work!
So it was indeed Chief Justice John Roberts. Great, thanks you guys for the clarification!
Wasn’t sure who was sitting next to John Boehner since the figure looked a bit fuzzy.
You bet dmd25! Happy to continue to bring the latest news and pics of GWB on the Dose!
Funny lines and great photos. Barbara Bush never seems to age, does she? I was just about to say that the unidentified man looks to be Justice Roberts and see several others thought the same.

hiccup. Have no idea how that happend. Sorry.
Yes, Barbara Bush looks great for her age. She’s still sharp, funny and feisty as ever!
Don’t worry, it’s okay. I’ve made the same mistake of double posting more than once! :)
Thanks so much for the new pictures.
I think it is very interesting that Jeb and GHWB were invited to the White House for a chit chat, but GWB was not? I can’t believe he would go under the radar of the rabid press .
Maybe the O couldn’t stand to be in the presence of 2 real Presidents. Just speculating.....

Former President George W. Bush talks about presidency, faith at Naples summit
But he didn't come to talk politics or to endorse any presidential candidates.
The 43rd president of the United States was just one of several notable speakers on Friday at the annual Legatus summit, which is being held at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples beachfront resort off Vanderbilt Beach Road through today.
The line-up of speakers and special guests also included J. David Karam, president of Wendy's International, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio from Florida, and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who converted from Hinduism to Catholicism.
Legatus a networking group for the heads of businesses that encourages members to become ambassadors for the Catholic faith is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The group was started by Thomas Monaghan, the founder of Domino's Pizza, Ave Maria University, and now Gyrene Burger, his latest fast-food venture in Naples.

Thats Raymond Arroyo on the left who interviewed GWB on stage. If youre familiar with him, Raymond has his own show on the Eternal Word Television cable network and a frequent guest on Laura Ingrahams radio show.
